I turned 45 on 08.03.17 (this year lol) and my hgv entitlement expires on 24.11.19
Now does this mean I have got to take my medical now as I have had nothing from DVLA as yet or wait until they inform me
just a tad worried if I’m still legal
Any info would be good

Medical is due by the date given in column 11 on the back of your licence.
The due date was likely extended last time you renewed the photo. It’s not related to birth date anymore.

When did you last have a licence issued from DVLA and why 
I had it renewed because of photo

YES - next D4 medical due by 24/11/19
I had the same thing when I last renewed the photo
First licence issued after october 2012 gives 5 years LGV free from date of issue which for those who would have needed a medical due during those free 5 years with an extension on it
CAVEAT - if concerned that a medical has been missed then there is always the free NHS well man/woman medical check as well as a free eye test if opticians have an offer on
