Worst Company to deliver to?

Boots Beeston is just an arse of a place to back into Tris, did you see the video I posted last week?

That’s the one mate.

Hamshank. PS. Your motor went past me today right past my depot, looked like a full timer in it.

Only our lads our allowed out in them for now bud, you can’t touch one until you’ve been signed off in them. Keeps the agency riff-raff out of them, although the first fella that had it after me (who was one of those that did all the trials in them, and went on to have one for himself) managed to scuff my mudguards by forgetting how to use air suspension.

The agency guys are going to destroy these. Actros interior colour vs agency man covered in fifth wheel grease is a bit of a no brainer which will come off worse.

That’s not even a hard bay, it’s when you’ve gotta back in between two other lorries it’s awful. Tight as fôok and no room in front. If a foreigner pulls in I’m straight outta the waiting room to assist if they’re going anywhere near me.

Then you notice the other side of the goods in office the boots drivers all use the easy bays.

For the life of me I can’t decide why he tried to blindside onto it.

But I think this thread is more about who takes the proverbial once you’re there

The beeper things also do my head it. It’s awful from start to finish.

Always good fun watching a Stobart driver reversing.

Really useful products at Castleford.

It’s an absolute bugger to get into their yard and on a bay, blindside reverse down a narrow lane with cars either side.

Arrived at 8am for an 8.30am collection. At 6pm they told me it won’t be ready till the following morning. WAS NOT HAPPY.

TM told me to drop the trailer in their yard and we’d collect it when we were ready.

I remember a fella at Tesco Daventry once who rebelled against the waiting room & went back to his cab. He came back in after 2 hours having been asleep on the bunk asking why they hadn’t started tipping him yet, only to be told they had been calling him for ages because his trailer suspension needed lifting.

Safe to say that was an act of rebellion that backfired.

Not really. I would have lifted the suspension, and got back in the cab. (Been there, got the t-shirt), and back to sleep. I’m not on piece money, I get paid for sleeping, watching TV, ■■■■■■■ in the cab. Take as long as you like.

Bookers at haydock is a ball ache.

This particular fella seemed to be agitated at it taking so long.

I was starting to lose patience fast, with this type of attitude and carry on towards the end of my time, the attitude off some clerks and warehouse bods was unbelievable, and I dont understand why, they treat drivers like dirt, why?, an ALDI depot near Purfleet (cant remember exact location) was absolutely vile to myself and three other drivers when I went there a couple of years ago, unbelievably rude, for no reason that I could fathom, said you will be waiting to tip till we are ready, gave it three hours got back in the truck and went back to the depot with it, they were on the phone the second I went out the gate screaming and threatening, I was agency so wasn’t that bothered and didn’t get paid but **** em.

It’s always funny watching a Stobart driver full stop. They remind me of bus drivers with their self important body language.

Maybe when Stobarts were acquiring James Irlams, they saw this video and it confirmed the calibre of driver required.

So a paid by the hour agency driver didn’t like to wait to get tipped so took load back to yard then never got paid why? hours mean money thats what your there for

Maybe he didn’t like being spoken to like crap fella. If you are happy ■■■■■■■ in your cab for four hours and getting spoken to like crap for a few quid, that’s your business.

skell790:
I used to quite like being held up, provided I didn’t have anything else to do, plus they let me sleep in the cab and use the canteen. I was being paid by the hour and always took a good book, mind.

Not being allowed to stay in the cab is a [zb]. Tescos at Purfleet don’t allow that.

Ill second that. I remember a good few years ago now, being sat in a que at Turdsco in Welham Green, nothing unusual, well happy reading and listening to the radio, and this young bloke came to me and asked if it was normal to have to wait so long? I told yes, and to take a chill pill, he said hes was on salary, I told him I was on £12.50 an hour, and was quite happy to wait for hell to freeze over! He was seething! He jumped back in his cab and dlammed the door so hard I thought he was going to break the window. :grimacing:

Currently working on pallet delivery for one of the networks in a 15t rigid. We get 15mins per drop so if someone decides not to tip me within that time frame, I ring the office & tell them I’m pulling out then they can recharge the sender for extra time & storage - no skin off my nose
