Who has best looking fleet or best livery?

Rob K:
Stotts have a very nice fleet (silver units and silver reefers) and also Bale Tankers too, with silver FH12 globes.

Just down the road from me …

I think our livery is pretty smart. Nothing special really, just a nice traditional Scottish paint job.

This is one of my wagon, stopped for a break in Spain this February.

Yes, I always liked the look of Wishart trucks Simon. plain and simple

Rob K:
A lot of ‘£200/week and a tin of polish’ companies here :open_mouth:

How true. One of the better maintained fleets over here is the refrigerated carrier C.R.England. They have a large fleet (4000+ tractors) all painted a deep red with a gold pseudo coat-of-arms. Always large, new Kenworths with the biggest sleepers available, always clean, always maintained well.

Trouble is, though, they don’t pay squat to their drivers, they keep them out for weeks (even months) at a time, then they do their best to get rid of them once they’ve paid off the (government backed) company training programme after 1 year. They survive by hiring the cheapest, least experienced drivers, they take advantage of them, then toss them away for the next sucker in line.

Ahh, good old crash and roll… :stuck_out_tongue: Wonder if they’ll take advantage of Bush’s new visa scheme to import foreign people to rip off?

Lovely silver tank trailers, last one I saw nearly took the front of my cab off overtaking me on the A10! :imp:

I may be a bit biased here, but I think our Edwards livery is plain and simple, but eye catching too.

Mind you,I think the Scandinavians could teach us a thing or two about eye catching liveries…

The trucks from Danish company P.Bjarne Anderson are always recognisable and well turned out.You should see the interior’s too!

Another Danish company,HPT.Plain and simple.

A favourite of mine is Nils Hanssons from Sweden.Very smart.

The narrow pin-stripes on the cab are reflective.

Here’s a better Nils Hanssons pic.

KW, loved the photos. Take more please !
Bjarne Andersens trucks looks like a show piece, shame he didn’t found place to incoorperate the Danish flag on the Scania’s design. I do like when the different nationalities show their flags somewhere on the trucks.
Keep snapping…

and pulleyns. ive been to their yard if the driver isnt busy he will go and polish the wheels on someone elses trailer.

Can’t see me doing that for no-one!!! :open_mouth: :open_mouth: :open_mouth: :open_mouth:

KW…thought you might like a bit of the blue taken out of this image !

Plain white unit & Plain white fridge trailer will catch your eye more than any painted job!.

Well, thats my opinion anyway and also my personal preference.

Wheel Nut:
I saw a basic old fashioned truck the other day on the M5

It was painted in Brian Harris livery. Is it a show truck, cos harris went bust didnt he?

No, Brian Harris ceased trading before he went bust - subtle difference.

The wagon you saw on the M5 could’ve been an Albion Super Clydesdale that someone has restored into Harris & Miners livery (the name of the company before Brian took control).

If it’s not that one, it could be Brian’s own ERF KV that he was having restored - having retained it after the company assets were auctioned at closure.

I do admire a good livery…especially with onions and mash…but my boss has the best: plain white unit…plain blue trailer(tip) as he always reminds me, as have other bosses ive worked for..why advertise in english when your trucks spend most of their lives on the continent..who understands the writing anyway and who on earth is going to phone the number advertised on the side.. ooh i need a transport company, must ring that number` only thing worth advertising is the name of the truck and the trailer.

what about East West in their heyday when they were doing Fridges ?V smart!!
Also:
Hagan Transport,Lagan Transport,Fagan Transport,A J Millar,Transcontinental,
TC Refrigeration,SteerSide,Molloy and Sherry,Seaforde ?

Classics!

Does anyone have pics pof these in their hey days ? (70/80s)

Indeedy routier, Remember the first time I ever seen a Renault Magnum it was in Seaforde colours, Also remember TC Refridgerated, lovely white reefers with The big TC in black and orange initials. Fagan Transport are related to me, they are based in Gilford Co Down, still going strong pulling containers and bulkers! Lagan are still operating also, and still with the green and white wagons. Routier you must have drove Ireland at one stage!

Kev

My Da,s drove this scania for Hagan. That was it,s first day out.

saw a DTS cab today, it appeared to be fully chromed. Bet it took some polishing

Good points truckyboy !
It just ruins a perfectly good looking body with all that writing on it. Are they trying to get a novel published or what ? You do wonder sometimes. It just seems messy and you never get time to read all of it anyway. Company name, logo and a phone number on the trailer doors and the cab side. All they need. And it doesn’t need to be big either.

Still haven’t got around to get a photo of Raven Express Logistics, but saw one of their great looking artics this week. Now that’s a good design. Also, William Kirk has got a good signage, soft handwriting style that stands out.
