Who has best looking fleet or best livery?

Gerry Jones is another of my favs. It’s that classy looks of black / dark coal grey with silver writing. Some nice scanias on the road.

A few snaps of a Macfarlane truck I met at South Mimms a few weeks ago. I do like those contrasty colours. And the unit was very well kept. Super !

The adress you are trying to link to is on your computer, and the pictures need to be on the net, try imageshack.ws/ for uploading your pics to the web, then put the adress in they give you, so it will look like for example

But you will see the picture rather than the text.

Almost forgot Shannon, STL. Always immaculate looking FH12’s, and those blue stripes looks great as they bring unit and trailer nicely together.

Thanks Gurner.
Will try again with those Macfarlane snaps.

Yeah, but i’m based at Tewkes… I frequently end up doing trunks to and from tho…
And I always look over at the OWENS truck down the M50… Just incase there’s a female driver doing the same back…

JP fruit distributors, all new units and trailers. Their new livery looks well smart.

My favourite local hauliers are:

Geoff Gilbert, a very simple but striking livery. Especially their new r-series toplines

Benton Bros, such a traditional livery that can’t be missed

and non local ones are Scott Trawlers and P.& C.Hamilton

A lot of ‘£200/week and a tin of polish’ companies here :open_mouth:

thorburn international had some cracking smart motors in there day. big v8 scanias with stacks on.

I saw one of their Scanny toplines going round the M25 yesturday and they still look as good as ever JB. I thought they’d gone under a couple of years ago but it looks like they are still going.

Very often I see one of their V8 Toplines heading south down the M6 around J15-J16 around 2-2.30pm. If I had all the money in the world, my truck would look exactly like the tri-axle one of theirs I saw this week with stacks and polished fuel tank.

I saw another one of their trucks today, southbound on the M23 at about 3pm.I don’t know if he had drops in Sussex or was heading for Newhaven? Does anyone know where they run out of these days? I think it used to be near Liverpool but I’m certain someone will put me right if I’m wrong.

did,nt they run out of skelmersdale

How true. One of the better maintained fleets over here is the refrigerated carrier C.R.England. They have a large fleet (4000+ tractors) all painted a deep red with a gold pseudo coat-of-arms. Always large, new Kenworths with the biggest sleepers available, always clean, always maintained well.

Trouble is, though, they don’t pay squat to their drivers, they keep them out for weeks (even months) at a time, then they do their best to get rid of them once they’ve paid off the (government backed) company training programme after 1 year. They survive by hiring the cheapest, least experienced drivers, they take advantage of them, then toss them away for the next sucker in line.

 like who then Rob?

Bryan H / Dave,

Thorburn’s yard is at Huyton, on the Industrial Estate alongside the sliproad at the junction of the M62 and M57.
They also own Crown Cold Store on Knowsley Industrial Estate.

I wonder … :unamused:

Stotts have a very nice fleet (silver units and silver reefers) and also Bale Tankers too, with silver FH12 globes.

Most i like the old British art to paint them.
you find it today sometimes too, often by Scottish Lorries.

I saw a basic old fashioned truck the other day on the M5

It was painted in Brian Harris livery. Is it a show truck, cos harris went bust didnt he?
