What would you have done?

jammymutt:
Tiggz at least you know now that if you do feel tired you can keep on driving for as long as it takes for a fellow truck driver to make sure you wake up.

Very facetious, Jammy… my point in all this is that I would try and solve the problem ‘in house’ long before I would go calling 999…especially as I reckon you wouldn’t get much thanx from traffic on a busy Friday night for bothering them with such a phone call

untill a multipull pile up happens with god knows howmany dead and injured people, and the motorway shut for 7 or so hours with maybe you stuck in the mayhem
then what oh maybe someone should have givern him a blast on the horns and flashed him a bit■■? yeah that would do the trick :bulb: :bulb: :bulb: :bulb: :open_mouth: :open_mouth: :open_mouth:
agreed we have to look out for each other as no one else will, but where do you draw the line? after the 1st blast on the horns after the 100th and the driver is still a danger to others then what go by and leave it to someone else to clear up the mess

I think the Police would be very thankful that you had taken the time to report erratic driving ESPECIALLY on a busy Friday night, this talk of losing livelihoods is utter nonsense the chances are if found to be tired a driver would probably be ordered to pull over and have a break, they are hardly going to take his licence away.

LT why did it take someone else to wake you up at Shap?, you as a professional driver should know the signs and should have pulled over before anyone else has to warn you of it.

Do-good brigade out in force again I see. (Not aimed at any individual or post specifically). :unamused: :unamused: :unamused:

tiggz:
oh yeah and bear one more thing… yeah very true every one’s life has a time limit, god help you if anyone close to you ever gets killed in a RTA, believe me your attitude will change almost immediately.

Tut Tut, Tiggs. you should always think before you speak

bear my dear, don’t judge people by your standards.

Going back to the original post, the eratic driver almost had a collision with another lorry who was trying to “ALERT/get past” and he/she made no attempt at making there driving safer to other road users. I’m sorry but at the end of the day i value my life and i’m not going to try and get any where near the arse of this guy to get his number plate to call the rozzers.

Your point of trying to solve the problem beforehand, very heroic in some instances and of course saving tax payers money and resources in “wasting” police time. BUT sometimes taking the law into your own hands is the worst you can do.

You have a different opinion to me on life and it’s worth and therefore, i accept that and take my hat off to you.

Chris im afraid we’re going to have to agree to disagree because the way i’ve been brought up is that you dont tell tales on others no matter what the situation is, sorry but thats the type of person i am :sunglasses:

As an example how do you feel about this photo it was taken at 3am on a sunday morning its the speedo and rev counter from a 17t volvo the picture was taken on the A56 between haslingdon and burnley (very steep downhill) with a load weighing 8 ton

Simon

I can still make out the dials. Blow 'er on!!

What do you want; a medal

By the way, you can also achieve the same result of both needles hitting the stoppers by opening the tacho holder when you’re moving. Sorry, nice try, but you’ve been sussed :grimacing:

Rob its a digital tacho it wont open when moving

and no medal required thanks
