What is the worst road in britain

The A303, nice dual carriageways in places but the single lane bits are terrible.
You get the tourists looking at Stonehenge, Wurzel & his mates in their Somerset Ferraris & the supermarket trolley dollies doing 38mph downhill with the wind behind them :unamused:

Q nominates the A442 between Kidderminster & Telford
which Ive nicknamed The A Four Bumpy Two

regards Double Q

I nominate the M180.

The most boring, featureless winding piece of tarmac that ever graced planet earth :exclamation: :exclamation: :exclamation:

M25 at anytime day or night there is always the chance of getting stuck, and when you do get round in one go, it is like someone has performed a minor miracle

I thought that was the M5?

I would say the A65 from Leeds to the M6.

It’s not for the faint hearted during the night,as it’s absolutely pitch black, and even during the day,if you have another truck coming the other way,it’s a breath in time, and pull your mirror in,as it’s so narrow in places.

Ken.

The A96 Aberdeen to Inverness has got to be in with a shout, it’s got everything to annoy your average trucker.
tractors, caravans, tourists, limited overtaking, busy villages. – the list is endless.

A52 between Boston and Skeg, windy road, tractors pulling bus shelters, Chug in his moggie 1000 going on his hols and last but not least caravans!!!
In my job the A17 at Holbeach (Particually if you have drops either side at holiday time)

A6 heading from Kendal to Shap, I recently had to go through there from Kendal and back, been into shap quite afew times in the truck.

I nominate the A82 you know the dodgy bit that passes the top of Loch Lomond, came down it last week and was glad that it wasnt tourist season, the way them lochs and glens coaches fly round there

Good shout Andy d. I nearly ended up in the loch one morning trying to get out the way of one of these coaches.

forget motorways and Britian

The worst road in the WORLD is alum rock road - birmingham. it is an Asian area that leads right to city centre thats is chokka block 24/7. Ive been stuck there for up to 2 hours due to blocked in busses etc. You also get the kids smashing your windows and scrawling “no whites after 9pm in alum rock” on the side of your wagon :imp:

The A708 betwwn Moffat and Selkirk Its near enough single track in most places and Thats a “A” road

zaksdad:

M8 Kingston Bridge or Clydeside Expressway in Glasgow, from 4pm till anywhere after 7pm, absolutely choc-a-block

woodhead pass its always foggy apart from when its snowing ditto snake pass

M4 from M32 to M5 junction, M5 Bristol, A30 Exeter…

probably driven by one of those southern drivers it usually is.

A75 - the Paddy GP

Anywhere between Gretna and Stranraer.

I travel the 75 twice a night and the paddies are usually in a convoy of 10 or 12, (safety in numbers apparently), 10 ft apart, (close coupled??) and travelling at 120k’s +
