What is the worst road in britain

A71, A1 weatherby, M42 all of it , A17, all of the M 1, goes without saying all of the M25 , WHY oh WHY is there STILL tolls at Dartford ■■? look at the mess that creates ( greed plays a part there i think ) A66 westbound scotch corner to M6 ( why didnt they finish the job it should have been a dual carrigeway years ago ) oh and the A59 ,

Well, I will have a go then.

What about M1 Junction 24?
Whats that all about?

I get held up even on a Saturday near the A453 :frowning:

hiya,
the worst bit of road i ever came across was the a6 over shap, lost days sitting in the jungle cafe,no m6 in those days there must be more coffin dodgers than me remember it,thanks harry gill long retired

Aye i remember it well.Do you remember the green cabin at the top of shap were you could stop?.

worst road ever! little high street, llangatock nr abergavenny. i know had to be dragged out from under the trees by tractors!!! some of the roof still left in the trunks up there!!!

A72 between peebles and castlecraig - I ■■■■■ hate this road- last time i was on it - i ripped off a mudguard and mounted the grass verge which caused my back light bracket to dis- lodge all because i was trying to avoid a head on collosion with an insane tipper driver - it has far too many blind cornors and for large parts its a 50ft drop at the side of the road scary -hate it! hate it!

hiya,
dafdave yes i remember the cafe at the summit the eagles nest or something got snowed up in the layby a few times did scotch regular in those days it was the a6 or nowt used to get there eventually, thanks harry long retired.

hiya,
dafdave, you was lucky,180 gardner i’d an erf 5lw top speed 39 mph used to get 10 hrs lancs to glasgow and it took it, it was 1957 i was just out of the army and was a driver in that driving a wagon and drag aged 18 (aec matador and gun) drove all over korea and malaya some rough old roads out there too, worked for international companies in britain but never went over the water thanks harry long retired.

There is a new ‘Police, Camera, Action’ programme on ITV1 this monday evening which is looking into dangerous UK roads - might be worth a look…

Any road that allows muslims to drive on them.

The westlink in Belfast with the road works Nightmare :smiling_imp:

colinb:
M8 Kingston Bridge or Clydeside Expressway in Glasgow, from 4pm till anywhere after 7pm, absolutely choc-a-block

Oh yes.

Especially that place on Clydeside near SkyPark, when cars from slip road want to go to right lanes and cars from the viaduct want to go to left lane.

I don’t know why they don’t put there this yelow square “keep clear”. That would be much easier for everyone.

Andrew Leitch:
A75 - the Paddy GP

Anywhere between Gretna and Stranraer.

I travel the 75 twice a night and the paddies are usually in a convoy of 10 or 12, (safety in numbers apparently), 10 ft apart, (close coupled??) and travelling at 120k’s +

Thought someone might mention it.

m25 anytime but the dartford tolls are taking the micky :imp: :imp:

Its on the teletext, the Worst road is the A537 Macclesfield to Buxton aka The cat and Fiddle.

I dont think its the worst. I think its quite a fun road.

Quite agree “K.Adams” especially if you are on a motorbike.
I once went to the Isle of Man on the back of my mate’s Guzzle Lemon (Moto Guzzi LeMans) and on one of the hairpin bends a Transit cut the corner, fortunately my mate is a good rider and Im here to tell the story.
On another occasion I was travelling to my parents at Whitchurch in January (I know!!!). After Buxton I ran into snow, strong crosswind and lightning . I got a whiteout, couldnt see past the bonnet. I looked sideways and could see the Cat’s carpark so I nipped in there for a bit
