Just looking at some basic transport issues.
Vehicles if registered in Scotland will (if decided) need to be taxed but not at Swansea
O Licencing (If decided) would need administering by a Scottish body
There will be other burocratic institutions which will need replicating.
Scottish lorries would probably have to pay an equivalent Lorry Road User Charge to enter the remainder of the UK, which would probably be reciprocated in Scotland - Big customs and changeover points at the border!!
If there is a huge fuel price variation, we will see tank dipping and taxation at entry points.
Supermarkets (If served from the rest of UK) will probably charge the true cost of products travelling all the way from Midlands DCs.
I see some of the simple day to day stuff becoming complicated quickly if everyone is not on the ball (or someone decides it is theirs and takes it home)!!
The post service wouldn’t have to provide any cover. I wonder how easy it is to set up so many of these services from scratch?
Funny how Salmond wants independence (but still wants the value of big brothers £gbp) and that independence involves joining the EU. Not very independent is it?
If Scotland go, take NI & Wales with thee on the way out the door.
A county with mass unemployment. Mass obesity, huge drug problems and next to no revenue streams wants to remove it’s support structure. On the misguided notion than money will fall from William Wallace’s backside.
That can only end well.
However of someone with some sense was to have a go they could
Scrap tacho regs
Lower fuel duty
Lower tobacco duty
Legalise cannabis ((and charge appropriately)
And so many other ways to generate revenue.
But they won’t do that. Because generally speaking they’re too busy stuffing their faces with battered everything and their arms with heroin.
Scotland will no more make a success of independence than my goldfish with cycle round his bowl

That ok u can keep the oil as it now costing at least 20 times more to extract it and anyway the oil we extract cant be used for making fuel as it aint the right type of crude

I honestly think you overestimate them. The bigots tend to make a lot of noise but they are firmly in the minority as they ALWAYS have been.

Sorry to burst your bubbles but we are going no where. the proddies dont want to break up the uk and most of us see salmond as living in his own wee worldTrust me if UKIP lose the next election Scotland will wish that it had broken away from the UK,when the socialist zb’s in the new Lib/Lab coalition, impose an 80% fossil fuel tax,and cover Scotland in nuclear power stations and wind generators to stop bs global warming. Before signing us all over to a federal Europe and increasing immigration.

“if ukip lose the next election”?- do you for one minute think that ukip will win enough constituencies to form a government at the next election? dream on.the only way ukip will get anywhere near government will be to form a coalition with the tories…
Which is why I’ll be voting blue and not purple, I agree with most things UKIP stand for, especially on immigration, but I’d sooner be shot than help Labour win an election by ‘wasting’ my vote on UKIP who won’t win.
You could be correct and i hope you are.thats just the general chat im hearing.look the simple fact is we are going no where, the whisky and oil is staying and english mps trying to walk over us will stay.i think the alternative is worse.join the eu if possiable means they will rip the ghish more than england.then theres the pipe dream of standing alone but that wont happen as we no longer have the trade skills required,so let countless new arrivals in.i dont honestly see the point.i stick by what said earlier that we hate yous to much to leave
