What If ?

They ditch the thieving undemocratic Londoninium government of self serving arrogant bar stewards down there and get rid of the unelected dictators of Europe! If only the rest of us had the chance.

But you do Fred, YOU DO!!! It’s called a vote…

Believe me I do vote but it would appear that too many don’t and because of this nothing changes. The way they have changed the rules makes it ever harder to get rid…

Win win for the English following any yes vote imo. We get rid of Scottish MP’s in London, plus in 15 or 20 years time when it’s gone horribly wrong we get to watch the televised spectacle of the Scottish King/President/Premier bending his knee and swearing fealty to our monarch!

Of course I could just be fishing for a reaction!

Lets be fair, if there was nae oil, then the London/EU wazzocks would want nothing to do with Scotland!

Dunno about that, we still seem to cling to Gibraltar despite it offering not much more than some monkeys arses and a spot of target practice for the hooligans from Hereford!

I always say if you have to be out of work or don’t have a roof over your head go to where the sun shines

Failing that, if theres no other way become a professional ā€˜crim’ and you’ll always have roof over your head and food on the table! The government have no choice but to keep you - best pension plan in the world in any ā€˜civilised’ country!

Don’t you feel the winds of change Fred? Have heart my friend! And if I had to choose between independence for Scotland or GB out of the EU bureaucracy monster I’d choose the latter every time!

We are going no where lads,we hate yous to much to bugger off

If Scotland is bright enough to realise that it’s got the benefit of massive industrial ability ( if it decides to put it’s people back to work in engineering ),fuel reserves in terms of gas,oil and coal, and agricultural and fish stocks and a relatively low population to support the choice between staying in the UK and/or EU or getting out of both is a no brainer. :bulb:

Slight problem. The oil is Shetland’s and if Scotland went independant, Shetland have said they would become part of Norway, where does that leave Salmond?

Why do you think that.as trying to enter the eu salmond will have to lube up and take it deep to get membership as its not a automatic thing, reguardless of what he thinks.i dont want the euro or german dictated overwatch

If they had the brain power to go down the path of opening up the scottish industries again that would benefit us slightly. ALL the latest technology needs such as wind turbine instalations need Americans or eastern europeans to run it (my father-in-law is an engineer and this is all he goes on about) as there are no young Scots learning these skills. As Scottish industry is technically dead, it would be years at the cost of god only knows what cost to train all these youngsters in trade skills long time dead. in the view of the longterm it would be advantageous however it would be a mighty burden to get started imo.

I really don’t like Scottish people …:exclamation:

Thanks for al the responses guys like i said imo Scotland has the will to be independent and imo has the way to be independent its that bigoted anti English pratt Salmond who gets on my ā– ā– ā– ā– .Like someone said it will be good to get away from the conmen of London and the EU.

I have always said an independent Scotland within the EU is a complete waste of time. For the life of me i cant understand why we want to take all that power away from London then hand it all over to Brussels its complete madness.

On the transport industry in an independent Scotland it will be local solutions for local issues i.e more flexible rules regarding ferry travel getting to and from the islands.

Hopefully trade bodies like the FTA, RHA CPT FSB ect will get some input during the transitional period. For information only scotch is a drink the inhabitants are scottish NOT scotch lolol

This one has itchy fingers and from what I’ve seen on this forum, nothing really worth writing either. Each to their own tho eh.

Just a thought, If Scotland leaves the UK and by default the EU, when we joined the common market it was as The United Kingdom therefore not being a United Kingdom anymore would we have to reapply to join the EU?.. Just a thought.

So you’re saying that the status quo of leaving things as they are, instead of putting the place and it’s own people back to work and keeping the resulting earnings at home,is preferable.

As for wind power as always Scotland’s natural fuel resources are all fossil fuel based which obviously means that the sensible course would be ditching all the bs global warming agenda together with UK ā€˜and’ EU rule.

God help all the scottish tesco workers, pimpdaddy would have a stroke

^ This.

It’s obviously a seperate England and Scotland with both being out of the EU which is the way forward.

That is not what I am saying. All I was getting at was living in the heart of Scotland all my days is that there is no industry here. All the people qualified to use modern engineered products are from non UK soil. So to ā€œrestartā€ the industry would take years of training new bodies in new skills. I live a stones throw away from 4 closed foundries, one of which was a world renowned manufacturer of cannons. They now make fiberglass baths at that site. Marshalls run from another and the other 2 are now housing estates. All the mines have been back filled. Need I go on? yes start the industries up again…at what time scale and cost? This is my point.

Drift:
I wonder if King Salmond would reduce fuel tax, he seems to want to reduce every other tax which leads to the question how does Scotland pay for itself?
I couldn’t give a toss which way the vote goes added I couldn’t get to vote anyway I an English (use to be British  )

He wont be reducing anything due to the fact that all the freebies they get has to be payed back, tax will rise, fuel will cost the same or 20ppl more, road tax will be increased, council tax will rise, the list is endless

sick of hearing about this independence crap. its never gonny happen.
