Looks as if he’s already come through the lights judging by the road and carpark signs Trev.
Cheers Dave.
I take it that was before they had lights at that junction, and before the bypass was built?

They had lights at the junction when that F10 was seen, but definitely taken before the bypass was built. The lights were there in the 70’s,don’t know when they were first installed.
Cheers Dave.
To the drivers right is the High Street the lights are behind him i take it…and hence that is why he is going through the town as the bypass was not built yet

Yes that’s it,he’s come through the lights heading south towards Newtown. The bypass was built a few years later.I can’t remember exactly when,it’s a big improvement to going through the town, there used to be huge tailbacks at those lights when the holiday traffic was about.
Cheers Dave.

I can well believe the tailbacks, i can remember the ones through Conwy before the A55 tunnels went in under the esturary.

I thought there may have been some photos from the milk depots in West wales, Whitland must have been one of the biggest driver employers back in the Dairy products transport days, I remember Carmarthen and Haverford west had fair sized fleets as well as the numerous smaller milk transport depots.
