Hello all. Another haulier from west wales , Can anyone remember H.L.Williams and sons from Pontyberem , are they still running ? . I did a few runs mainly on nights for them out of Abercarn after passing my test in 1990. They were running mainly dafs at the time a number of 2800’s , a 2500 , a volvo f7 and a few ‘G’ cabbed renaults , if I remember correctly some of them were owner drivers.

H L WILLIAMS & SONS doesnt exist anymore and their garage at Bancffosfelen napier garage has since been demolished and is now 2 new houses in last 18 months or so.
Steve Williams moved further up the other side of the school to a farm and still operates an artic.

Thank you for the update on H.LWilliams & sons , its been a while since I have been down that way. I remember the first time I did was with a daf and a box trailer being returned for maintenance to the yard which was up the hill and on the left.

What happend to Danny Williams (Lampeter) used to see these all the time are they still going…used to go into Kronospan in Chirk and Shotton Paper Deeside and they used to reload out of Ince with Fertiliser.
Another blast from the past J.P.R Transport Rhyader now that was some fleet they finished some years ago.
I used to see quite a few Danny Williams wagons when I wen up Aberystwyth way,like you haven’t seen any of theirs lately.J P R finished a few years back. A W Jenkinson got the contract to run from the mill at Newbridge on Wye up to Kronospan.One of the son’s of the late John Rogers ( J P R) is a transport manager for Jenkinson’s who have about 15 artics based at Newbridge.

Yeah you see alot of A W Jenkinsons out that way,i used to see one of Plevins ERF EC14,s regular doing the same run to Kronospan.
I also used to see Danny Williams wagons out Aber way aswell,quite a few times i have come round a bend between Devils Bridge and Tregaron and there would be about 3 of them, when i was driving a 18t about 8-9 years ago

Nice pic chepstowchap,but as cons77,you don’t see them on that road so much nowadays,whether they have cut their fleet down I don’t know.Did see one of Plevins on the A49 on Ludlow bypass a few months ago.I think A W Jenkinson is the mainplayer on the Kronospan work from Mid Wales these days.

They are still going strong then,they must’nt venture up North as much then …if at all.
Are still still running Volvo’s i think they had a few Fodens aswell some years back ,and there triaxle flat bed trailers seemed a bit dated too.
