Volvo FH changes

Err, I think we need to keep the rev counter… You’re not trying hard enough if you don’t need one of these.

I agree with having some sort of air suspension height control on the dash, so you don’t have to root about down the side of you for the pad whilst your backing under or pulling out. Safeway’s Scania’s had a button like this where you could set it all the way up or all the way down or at ride height, haven’t seen it since more’s the shame, great idea.

Said lorry being road tested in the UK :grimacing: I like it!

From the ask mid insurance database:

Vehicle Make/Model: VOLVO FH ARTICU

Vehicle Type: CAR

Bit big for a car though

haha i have to agree with you there, looks the nutts though! theres one with reg ending elo its a 6x2 unit cruising about same in disguise too!

Mike beer has had it on trial for a few months.

The biggest issue with the FH that I drive (V2) is the unforgiving cab suspension.
So I would like to see air bags as standard on the new model.
Even the Renault premium has them.

OTS:
Interior lights have changed for the worst, seat position in cramped , higher bunk restricts the seat movement , just want a quick snooze in the chair and not on a bunk.

I think the dimmer switch and all the the interior lights dotted about are spot on in my 60 plate.
And the top bunk pushed up out of the way gives the seat plenty of room to recline the seat,
Pity it didn’t go back a bit firther though

Agreed, the interior lights are spot on compared with my old 07 model. Door still hits me on the head on this 12 plate. Got leather in this one too which is nice.
I find it more roomy as it is configured single bunk, which I also find very comfortable. Going to have it for at least 5 years so got no choice!
Swivelling passenger seat as standard would be good as would the adjustable bunk.

TruckOff:
99% of wagon drivers today are not allowed to carry passengers, so why insist on fitting a passenger seat, use this space to install something we really need…a porta potty/toilet.

Some years ago I set about designing a passenger seat with a built in cassette loo, this would have been a direct replacement for the FH mk1 passenger seat. I built a prototype but after investing a significant amount of money and time I couldn’t get anyone interested in either the manufacture or marketing of the device. I was told it was for a ‘minority market’ and not economical to produce. It had a cassette that pulled out the side to empty the waste, and a fresh water tank for the flush. The flush worked on either 12 or 24 volt. I had it in my 1998 FH12 for a while and it worked well.

Tiger.

you would have been better with a button on the dash top make a slide so it go’es straight onto the road.

Use mirror arms from the FMX range to cut out blind spots.

Well yes, a few more skidmarks on the road ?

When aproaching a roundabout or junction, sort out the 3 seconds accelerator time lag, when you want to go but the truck cant make its mind up,and leaves you sat there like a lemon…

class reply :smiley: :smiley:

Sort out that nonsense with the back airbags that only inflate after you release the handbrake :unamused:
Surely it would make more sense for them to inflate to ride height with the handbrake on and not the footbrake

according to foreign truck website first promo video to be released tomorrow! the website also has pictures from video including what it looks like!!

Fpmsl it looks like it!:lol::lol::lol:

Windows need to be bigger, and mirrors need to be bigger, steering wheel could do with being a bit bigger. If your over 6ft a Volvo isn’t for you… It’s actually a tiny truck compared to what else is on the market.
