Can imagine some companies refusing time off or giving out disciplines to staff .

Care workers etc are not being prioritised because they are “key workers”, but because the nature of their essential work requires that they are constantly in close contact with lots of people, most of whom are clinically vulnerable to this virus (i.e. quite likely to die or suffer serious effects if they catch it). As a side issue, many of these workers (e.g. doctors, nurses etc) would be very difficult to replace in large numbers if they became infected and had to stay off work for a few week - i.e. “Protect the NHS”.
Lorry drivers are simply not in the same category as (a) they work alone almost all the time and pretty much never need to come into close contact with other folk, (b) the people they do necessarily come into contact with are unlikely to be vulnerable and (c) if a lorry driver had to take a couple of weeks off it wouldn’t be that difficult to find a replacement (in the current climate of furlough and redundancies etc)

Don’t worry about it; the death certificates will undoubtedly list Covid-19 as the cause of death.
Speaking of miracle cures it appears that absolutely nobody has died from the myriad of ailments that normally humans succumb to since COVID-19 appeared. It’s a miracle I tell ya.

I would gladly pay money to Pfizer if it ensured you were one of the first ones to get the round of vaccinations, along with a few others on this site.
Any one been signed up for vaccination trial? Had my booster Monday. But was it a vaccine or placebo? No ill affects since 1st jab last month.
Like Robroy said want to get back to a normal life.

're the Portugeuse nurse. She died two days after receiving a COVID vaccine. The autopsy was due to be made on the 5th January so we should see results soon.

Listening to the radio this morning, it seems even the coppers are getting on the me first bandwagon
Similar logic as applies to care workers etc? They are required to get up close and personal with a random mix of people who may or may not have the virus and others who may be clinically vulnerable.
My eldest daughter works in a medical centre as a receptionist.
She was asked if she wanted the vaccine this week, with the priority lists, as she comes face to face with people who could have it (although they’ve been told not to come to the centre, but that has not stopped one or two )
So as always she asked me what I thought she should do.
As I’ve said,.I’ve got mixed feelings on it so it was a bit of a dilemna advising her, if I had been her at her age and in good health, I think I would have taken my chances.
She said she wanted it, but asked me before she went ahead.
I told her to go with her own instincts, but ask the doctors there what they thought.
One was honest enough to tell her the vaccinations were through.quicker as normal, but he was having one himself…so who was I to go against a Doctor’s advice, one who had nothing to gain from more or less telling her to go for it.
Still got my reservations, and I told her this, but she’s going with it she told me today.
