Vaccinations and us Drivers

I’m having the vaccine,I know someone who died from covid (80 years),another was in hospital for 2 months, nearly died,2 others had it and it was really nasty,so I’m trusting the doctors, they know best,we .I’ve had cancer twice, had chemo pumped inside me,12 hour operation to remove the tumours, now completely cured ,I wouldnt be alive if it wasnt for the nhs .So I am happy to put my trust in the nhs again. It just seems so easy, just a quick jab,no big deal

It was a bit mate, but apology accepted.
Thanks.

My only question is why would employers or anyone force to have vaccine when confirmed by all vaccine manufacturers that after vaccination person still may get infected AND spread virus…so proof of virus free is only very fresh test!

Theres risk in everything though. Like you can still get flu after having the flu jab, but the chances of it becoming a serious flu causing harm to life are vastly reduced.

Same with Covid vaccines. Its not going to eradicate it. People will stil get it, people will still get ill with it and people will still die from it but at vastly reduced numbers as the majority who are at risk currently will find its much milder and the body will have had help to fight it.

Sounds correct Toonsy.
Plus if enough responsible citizens get the jab then we will have the herd immunity effect. Those whose jab "didn’t take^ will likely not come into contact with the virus because they are surrounded by those who are protected.

I’ll willingly give up my dose for some old codger to get it, crack on.

Even if none of you want it I’ll still pass, thanks.

you can spread virus when you are not seriously ill, so as i said it does not make sence to push employee into vaccination if that does not mean person is virus free…
Only test can prove it.

Its about mitigation of risk.

As I’ve said after vaccination people will still get it, and due from it, like seasonal flu. But with enough vaccination coverage the chances are vastly reduced of serious complications. Thinks its called acceptable risk.

Basically what you’re saying is that there’s either no point in getting the vaccine because it doesn’t stop it fully, or that we wait until cases dissappear completely (which may never happen) before returning to normality ish. While I think this lockdown should be harder right now, its with a view of getting normality ish back sooner and using all tools at our disposal to make that happen.

I get it, all I am saying is why scare people with posible dictate at work when vaccination off all people is not posible for months to come.
It only makes people who were not decided about to get vax or not to have a bad feeling about it…

Was handed a memo as I booked off today - Seems we are officially recognised as front-line key workers (we supply huge amounts of stuff direct to hospitals etc, and many of my colleagues also deliver direct to patients on life-extending treatment at home), so I’ve been offered the vaccine. Result!
