There is a shopfitting building company in Harlow I collected from recently. All Poles and all warning signs in Polish. It’s an English company!

No they didn’t. They came here as Britain was the only place left that wasn’t occupied by the Germans due to Britain and France declaring war on Germany to honour their treaties with Poland. Poles did not fight and die for Britain, they fought and died for Poland with Britain as a platform to do so. You could argue that it was all the same fight and amounted to the same thing but the motives are not the same.
Besides, none of this WWII related talk in any way has any relevance to the EU today where certain countries labour markets are saturated with workers from other countries. If we allowed in unlimited numbers of nationalities who have in some way, shape or form fought with or on behalf of the British Empire in the past, the English, Welsh and Scottish people on this island would make but a fraction of the population.

Took my phone, gave them a call, answer was: sorry m8, there is no jobs available… Just for fun asked my friend to ring the same company, and he was told, yeah, sure, just apply…I am Polish, he is English, we both passed within a days between each other, have been driving artics since we have passed, have similar work experience… There was no questions asked about experience or anything…

Our company have just recruited about 10 Poles because apparently they can’t find any one local, it’ll be interesting because they need to pass an assessment first so what would happen if they fail would they be on the first flight back .

That’s the version of history which those who are profitting from oversupplying the labour market with immigrant labour and foreign countries like Poland,that are taking of advantage of what is a just effectively a foreign aid scam,want everyone to believe.
The truth is those Poles who came here to fight during WW2 were doing it because their own country was too backward in it’s engineering skills and productivety to provide the weapons needed to defend their own country.It was British and American engineering skills and productivety which won WW2 in the West not the Poles.Unfortunately Poland then had to be cut loose,together with most of Eastern Europe,to avoid WW3 with Russia,which we would have lost at the time.
Poland,like most of Eastern Europe,was then run into the ground by Russia and the East Europeans themselves.IE it was the Polish government and underpaid Polish workers that ruined the Polish economy not us.So it should be the Poles who sort out their own country and not expect to come here effectively taking advantage of the UK economy to compensate for their own failings.The same applies to all the East European states.In which case it’s obvious that we need to leave the EU ASAP and it’s equally obvious that all those who are taking advantage of the present situation will want us to stay in the whole scam.

There is something in what you say. I know of a lot of transport firms that a few years ago had almost an entirely Polish workforce and in some cases would refuse to employ English office workers and instead insisted on those who could speak Polish and thus communicate with their drivers, this by default meant that only a Polish national would be employed because in reality the only people who speak Polish, are Poles themselves, its not a second language of choice by I’d say any one, especially not English people. Now though, many of these Poles have gone and English drivers are the majority, But there are still endless amounts of places I see on my visits back to the UK that are overwhelmingly Polish in workforce so while there may be less of them, its not necessarily a huge reduction and does it really matter if the Poles go back when they will only be replaced by Bulgarians and Romanians and then whichever cheap labour source the EU admits next.
The final blow will be Turkish membership, then the left wing, liberal nationhood hating politicians can not only ruin the employment market but can culturally, religiously and demographically destroy every western European nation with unlimited Turkish migration that will make most German cities with their huge Turkish populations look quite normal, or even tame.
Now I have nothing against Poles or Turks, in many ways I really admire them but I also believe that mass scale immigration in to any country de-stabilises the entire native society in that country and every people need a secure place to call home, be themselves and prosper in an environment that they feel at home in and while small scale migration poses no threat to national identity, employment prospects and the like, what we have now in western Europe is nothing short of national suicide in the long run.
