Truck driver selfishly delays commuters

Why would someone even start being a grammar ■■■■ by starting the first sentence of a paragraph with “And”!

Starting a sentence with “and” is acceptable if it links the previous sentence so technically Beezles post is gramatically correct

Though a proper grammar ■■■■ would know that the semi-colon is designed for this purpose; As I have just demonstrated.

Good on the trucker, very well done.

Chester, I only picked up on your error because of the type of person/poster you are. You love to post in a derogatory manner about other members, and it’s crystal clear that you do so in an attempt to appear superior. I’m not normally grammar ■■■■ as I’m far from perfect, and we all make mistakes. But most of us know we are far from perfect and don’t try to put ourselves on a pedestal and look down on others, unlike yourself… You’re sadly arrogant and stupid enough to not understand that to do so is a double edged sword, as you’re setting yourself up for people to have a pop at you when you screw up. So stop crying about it, take a look in the mirror and try to stop being such a condescending ■■■■, as this is where it leads…

P.S. I wouldn’t want to be a spelling or grammar ■■■■ on here, I’m not qualified and it would be a full time job!

Best bit I can see is that our, floppy cocked, under bridge dwelling OP, has yet to give his thoughts on the Lorry drivers actions. So there has been no “debate” on the subject of his post yet.

My thoughts are, this lorry driver did the right thing, and if acted as reported, did so in an exemplary manner. The guys who stop and take a break on the hard shoulder of a motorway, in the other thread that Chester alludes to, are not very bright.

So whats your take Chester old fruit? :unamused: :unamused: I’m predicting no response to the actual link he posted, just a diatribe about how because some lorries take breaks on hard shoulders, and get stuck under bridges, and knock cyclists over, that we are all useless thick and terrible people generally. While subtlety mentioning his blue Mondeo company car is still just about running even though it’s 10 years old.

This is a strong return to form after your last visit fell flat on its face…

Ah yes, the infamous “woman almost getting decapitated and not a murmer on trucknet” thread.
The funniest thing about that thread was even when it was pointed out there were threads about it and he was hopelessly and completely wrong, he still tried to save face and only made it worse

South Yorkshire Police said they had no record of the incident

Odd that.

And why did they mirror image the picture of him behind the wheel?

Not odd at all. After all it is South Yorkshire Police we are talking about. They had no record of 100s of girls being raped and sexualy abused by Asian gangs in Rotherham, no record of brutality at the Battle Of Orgrave and falsifying statements or no record of lying through their back teeth over Hillsbrough.
We are talking about the most incompetent police force in this country.

& didn’t they interview the Yorkshire Ripper half a dozen times over a few years, allowing the Nutter to carry on with his killing spree ?

No I’ll give them their due on that one. It was them that actually caught him during a routine traffic stop in Sheffield.
If I’m not mistaken he was with a prostituite in the car and they found the hammer he used during the attacks.

Don’t stick up for them too much Steve, there was a program about the ■■■■■■ a few weeks ago & here’s an extract from Wikipedia-
“West Yorkshire Police were criticised for the time they took in apprehending Sutcliffe, despite interviewing him nine times during the murder hunt.” [emoji1409][emoji380][emoji375][emoji879]

You do both realise that the Ripper stuff concerns West Yorkshire Police, not the South Yorkshire lot who are the subject of Steve’s “most incompetent force in the country” remark? Two completely separate organisations.

Oops, FAIL [emoji57], sorry wrong Fuzz !

Still Yorkie Puddings though [emoji6]

A brave driver who deserves a pat on the back…the selfish morons who didnt want to be late for work are a disgrace…but no doubt the police would have done exactly the same with their cars…he is a credit to the industry…for behaving in that way and preventing further carnage.

Although im still waiting for Chester to expose his opinion on his own thread ill try and give mine.

At first glance we have a lorry blocking traffic to protect a stranded vehicle and its occupants, thus protecting other traffic from hitting it as well.

Now in the comfort of my leather sofa I can disect the whys and wherefores to death, perhaps he could have left one lane clear to assist emergency vehicles but they may be happy to approach from a junction ahead the wrong way down the carriageway or they can split traffic by coming between them anyway so its not that critical.
The emergency operator would also inform the driver of what they would like him to do.

What is critical is that the driver made a judgement call with very little time to do so, his actions where correct and if it was me or one of my loved ones in the upturned vehicle I would be eternally grateful.
Acts like this do a lot to improve the image of HGV drivers and this hero either consiously or subconsiously made a split decision to protect life, after all its a battle field out there but we are all on the same bloody side.

I would like to see a dCPC module for drivers that includes ‘first responder’ training as our image will be greatly improved if the general public sees us as not a neccesary nuisance but help when rubberside goes skywards.

Course there are those that let frustrations of delays and an illusion of being in a rush control their actions and im sure in the cold light of day they may regret blasting their horns (much of that is probably exagerated media frenzy), but I shall forgive them as they know not what they do.
They had just better hope that if they are unlucky enough to find themselves in a life threatening situation on the open road a hero trucker like this one is on hand to help out.
Can I get an ‘Amen’ brothers and sisters…

Amen. First or almost first on scene, quick thinking, good call.
Still baffled by police “no record if incident” bit though. Maybe Sun code for “here`s a story wot we rote earlier”■■

Amen!

.

Feel really sorry for the man. First he gets paid pish money to get shot at in Iraq and now he’s getting paid pish money to drive for Birds Transport.

When is this guy gonna catch a break :astonished:

Then you personally attack me calling me a ■■■■!
As I post in a opinion which differs to you.
I’ve never put myself on a pedestal, maybe I can quote rules and regs.( which I guess you find intimidating and may not like)
Yes I admit I totally screwed up spelling (your) incorrectly and should have been spelt you’re.

Then again you did think having a 45min break on a hard shoulder is ok.

Ok so what is your view on the drivers actions in blocking the motorway/protecting the scene while assisting a casualty?

Franglais:
Still baffled by police “no record if incident” bit though.

Not really. That’ll be South Yorkshire covering up something else. Seemingly they are no stranger to that.

Ken.

Well done, drive!
As for the impatients (yes, I meant to put that and I haven’t misspelt it, Chester), leave a little earlier in case of delays, so that your journey becomes less of a nerve-jangler. It’s about time we had a “Not-so-rushed-hour” instead of the nonsense that goes on right now. Arriving early enough for a McD’s breakfast (other firms do them as well, to avoid a run-in with the “Fair play” police…), would start the day a better way.

Have you noticed the moustachioed face in the bottom right-hand corner of your iPhones keypad in portrait mode? Full-stop, comma and the keypad buttons…

I didnt play the spelling card. All I did was tell you they you were wrong and since you suddenly stopped fighting that battle and instead changed tactics and made up ■■■■■■■■ about me puling you up for spelling (which I never ever did) and went round in circles with see through attempted “wind up” techniques of then repeating the same clear lies and ignoring what was actually put to you, im gonna go ahead and assume you know I was right and you, were indeed, wrong. As usual
I accept your apology though.

In this case, it seemed to be the right desicion, I would be interested to see any police responces though, sometimes the police praise the actions on persons actions first on the scene etc.

I do wonder though if somebody was to block a couple of lanes of a motorway in what they thought was the right thing and somebody was to drive head on into a vehicle blocking live lanes would they be any concequencues?
In theory you may think your protecting a injured person, but your roadblock could cause a fatal accident.
Feel free to call me a troll if my response is not to your liking.

The emergency services do block lanes, although they have the luxury of fend off lights as well as blue lights.
