Tossco driver hits bridge and gets grassed up lol

my insructions were in english? if all instructions are in english only maybe this is the problem?

I wish every user of double decker trailers did the same, last week there was a Kingsmill bread lorry in our sleepy little village who took out the Christmas tree lights. He should have got under them, but he decided to turn round under them :open_mouth:

Not only couldn’t he drive, he couldn’t read a map either, he was miles away from his destination

Thanks, I like to put a ■■■■ to a name.

I’m going to get rattled here but I disagree with almost every post so far lol!!

To me looks like the only bit of forward planning and hazard perception was done by the bloke filming. (Although having said that by watching the video I think the Tesco driver knew he was high which makes this bridge strike even more pathetic)

Try to warn the Tesco driver that he is over height■■?

I tend to agree here a little bit, it is three weeks before Christmas, the roads will be full of toe-rags wanting to nick your loads of Nintendo games or booze. A car overtakes and cuts you up, or sits behind flashing at you, it may make the more astute driver panic a little.

And yes he couldnt even reverse the bloody thing to the side of the road

Sad…yup driver in car could have tried to warn driver, tesco driver should have followed route.BUT…and he couldnt reverse ? after the shock of what happened and the thought thats his job gone, coming up for xmas, points on licence prob sick to his stomach! reversing is the least of the drivers problems now hes staring on you tube .
Its happened to us all this sort o st but at least yrs ago no scummy informers with cameras.
jimmy.

Looks like a Stobart Unit! The red bit on the lower part of the drivers door!
The fella filming is a major Richard Head though! Waited for the numbtie to [zb] the bridge and not trying to warn the driver! :unamused:

Spot on, all the ■■■■■■ was bothered about was getting a decent film for YouTube. No excuse for driving past all the height restriction signs.

This was my exact thought, I agree the guy was a numpty but to have a go because his reversing was like a B&D assessment is a little out of order, I’ve read on here drivers admitting to “going to pot” when being watched by a few other drivers. :open_mouth:

He never hit the bridge?

Don’t you just Love google? :grimacing:

I’m actually a bit concerned what our lass will think when she sees what I’ve been downloading

vvvvvv Can’t you just palm her off with another one of those occasions vvvvvv
I typed “shot cow action” into google images to find out more on modern slaughter techniques, but missed the “s” honest!

Don’t make me laugh. I can’t remember how many times I’ve been over height and had a delivery right before a low bridge or better still many old town industrial estates are right by a train station!!
If anyone flashed me to death that I pulled over and HE pointed out to ME how high MY trailer is and what did I think I was doing then I would politely tell him to mind his own business. Ok granted it had Tesco written all over the trailer and there wasn’t a Tesco store around but still a professional driver shouldn’t need telling these things by someone that is not in the industry and is merely a car driver for crying out loud!!

I would have done the exact same thing (except film it), sit back and let the ■■■■■ realise on his own accord (which he did and still hit the [zb])
Most pathetic bridge strike in history, no indication, no hazards, wernt even in the middle of the arch either.

I herd that was Boss & Driver on an assessment drive.

+1.

Poor bit of road planning too, I could only spot one place to turn round after the first warning sign and that would have been a bit trick even without a car parked there. If they’d have put a sign before the 50 sign he would have had a chance to back into that nice big driveway, not great but better than trying to back all the way up from the bridge.
As for the schadenfreudig knob, hope he gets his just deserts.

Please don’t be naming or guessing people and where they’re from on here as it leads to the foolishness i just removed.

Wouldn’t he have to be a driver himself to have “Schadenfreude”?
The speech sounded like the guy was sitting in the passenger seat… So wifey was driving I take it, unless he’s got a LHD car, which I would consider to be “Unlikely” on the grounds of a college accents…

Schedenfreude is what WE would all feel here if the video ended with the helmet driving into a ditch, 'cos he’s too busy paying attention to something he wasn’t willing to prevent.

Here’s another classic example of “get the iphone out, but no quarter given”.

No schadenfreude is taking pleasure in other peoples misfortune which he is doing, and yes we would all be shadenfreudigs/ers (really don’t know the correct ending for loan words) if he drove into a ditch. It would be hilarious :smiling_imp:

Well anybody thats been on the job for a while knows that we can all do things and get into situations and end up in the deep stuff and in fairness to the driver as allready stated somewhere to turn was lacking and just imagine if you were in his situation the panic would have set in so little wonder he did’nt make a good job of reversing. Eddie.

That ■■■■■■ said he was a nervous driver, he was as I think driver knew how bad he was offcourse and was hoping for a way out b4 the bridge. Happened to me once tip was 150 yards past a low railway bridge, lucky for me it was a wide London street

Sounds like he made a whole meal of it …

In here all week.

Tell you what though, that driver will suffer from back problems in later life if he keeps jumping out of the cab like that

Nah sorry guys

If you set off in a decker without a map with bridge heights on you deserve everything you get

first job when some appeared in our yard was yoke one up and run a tape measure up the side then check our routes on a map

He shouldve stopped at the first sign and rung back to base for a proper driver to come out and turn it round for him (there was space just before the first sign on his right )
Or was the bridge going to magically get bigger or disappear :unamused:
