That sticker did come from a Gardner powered Foden 8wheeler, Dennis; B501 AUD. Dad drove it for a while late 80s early 90s and when he came off it, gave me that sunstrip. I kept it in the hope Gardners would still be around by the time I was driving. Foden’s were only going by name by then…

Apart from the spare 6w (an 02 reg) there’s only one that’s older…she’s due in for overhaul/mot prep in about 3 weeks so she’ll come back polished with a magic tree air freshener, compliments of workshop.

by heck nathan , you must have a better workshop than i ever came across . when our motors went in for repair or mot the steering wheel was covered in grease off the fitters hands , black handprints everywhere in the cab and all over the outside paintwork . cheers , dave

When they go for mot the cabs are polished-even behind the seats :open_mouth: No surprise then that a lorry I sat in as a boy was still around for me to drive as a spare…G160 BLM, the 4000th 4000 series; It was about 14-15 years old when it went (replaced by mine). I’d still happily drive it today if it was still around, Cat 10litre 250bhp, lovely growl and a pall of smoke to wind up greenpeace

Trevor Ayres loading at Lamarsh Road, Botley, Oxford. Apparently, this area was a backfilled tip during the 50s hence the rubble amongst the muck. It could’ve come from the demolition of the old slums at St Ebbes

Reports coming in that another TNUK member was doing an induction for Smiths yesterday and was seen riding shotgun in an 06 plated Alpha…

Guesses anyone?

No idea who it was    I was told it was some old duffer from down south

How did the last 2 days go, John? It’s about time you got on this Raf Brize muckshift; I can set the cruise and it’ll go there itself  And back on it Tuesday…

Yeah it was good mate, bit iffi for the first half hour, with not being in one for a couple of years, and never driving an auto before, out on my own from Wednesday so back in the saddle again

These sheets might save time, but they’re hopeless for lime haulage; Dust still blows out and you can’t keep loads dy overnight.

We had 6ft deep bulk bodies and Lime would blow out with a net over,we used sheets so you could keep it in and to keep the body dry when empty to stop it sticking.

Not to mention frozen loads…
