robroy:
Can you explain how Conor driving at 50 in a 50 zone could be described as ‘tossing it off’ …
He’s dragging the job out , you know that and I know that ( and so did the R.burns driver) , I’m for ever comming East / west across the 66 and you can run that every day ofbthe week on the limiter without any hassle , do you think there going too do you for doing 56 in a 50 .
If he wants to drag it out / toss it off then pull over and do it in a layby , there’s plenty too choose from
Dozy mate there you go making a [zb] of yourself again.
If he’s doing 30 he’s dragging it out and being a [zb] nuisance, if he’s doing 50 he is driving to the law and certainly NOT ‘tossing it off’
You have said yourself you are continually put under pressure, that is why you are going like a twunt all day, if you are [zb] stupid, (as you clearly illustrate) enough to allow yourself to be treat like a mug and a doormat by your co, that is up to you, but don’t come on here knocking those that are sensible enough to do the job PROPERLY
Oh and don’t ever tell me what I think/know, …the deal is I tell you that!
He was doing 37 mph though ( read earlier post ) , so yea he was dragging it out , and even if he was doing 50 he was , how many night trunkers do you not see on the limiter , you believe what you want rob , but I’ve been round the block long enough to know what he was up too , like I say pull in a zb layby if you want to drag the job out , spend a extra 10 mins at you tri change , stop for a extra ■■■■ , but don’t drag it out on the road and ■■■■ drivers who want to get on then come on here roaring about it
He was doing 37 FULLY LOADED UPHILL ffs. ! ! !
Look I aint an apologist for Conor, he’s capable of sticking up for himself, but is he supposed to pull over half way up a ■■■■ hill to let Rabbie ■■■■ Burns or you past dozy.
If I’m doing 50 in a 50, and if somebody is wanting past, it’s got ■■■■ all to do with me if he wants to break the limit, so I will signal him through when clear, but I’m ■■■■ ed if I’m gonna pull over half way up a hill on a climb and lose mometum so you and ■■■■■■ Wordsworth or whoever he is can save 30 seconds.
So live with it dozy…btw you are starting to actually annoy me now!
which given you know the A66 so well you’ll know that heavy loaded trucks go slow up those hills. Other than that and slowing down for the crossover onto the opposite carriageway at the start of the contraflow so I didn’t throw 27 tonnes of chipboard all over the road I was doing 50 and slightly over going down that steep hill to where the restaurant is on the right that is lit up in violet on a night. That RB driver was talking out of his arse, a bit like you do.
I went both ways across it tues, west bound today with a wide load , I’m going back over east bound tomorrow and I cAn keep it going alright and I’m loaded with concrete not a bit of zb chip board , maybe it’s the driver who’s not up too the job and not the load that slowing you down .
You still haven’t answered the question if you were in so much distress over this drivers actions why didn’t you pull over and get out the way and diffuse the situation , why did you continue ( above your stating if he hit the back of you , you could of both died ) , surely the safe option would be too get out the way , or were you like a lot getting pleasure from slowing him up
dozy:
I just can’t believe we’ve got some young kid who’s just passed his test 2 mins ago commenting on our driving and calling us knobs , zb me I was driving when he was still in zb nappies
Yeh, and out of the 2 of you which one has got the job sussed?
I’ve been driving more than 2 mins, maybe even longer than you doze.
Am I treated like a James Hunt by my firm, do I run like a demented idiot, do I let some spotty arsed 2at in an office tell me how to do my job, do I park in lay bys,let alone on 8.59secs, the list goes on doze …get a [zb] grip mate.
So getting the sack is sussimg the job out
That’s gone right over my swede doze
Who exactly has got the sack, or are you saying the penalty at your place for not running like a demented slave is the sack.
Ok then, how come my mate who has been at Stobbies for years (ok different colour trucks, same toss pots) runs the opposite way to you, ie. safe, sensible, within the law, not taking any bs from planners, is still there then.■■
Also another mate, ex Stobbies, for 10yrs+. I don’t remember him getting himself under half the pressure you say you do mate.
Face it dozy, you are treat like a [zb] because you allow them to do so.
Reckon it’s just you bud.
You said rob he’d got the job Sussed , I haven’t , I can’t see that as he got the sack from stobarts , I didn’t when employed by them unless getting the sack is classed as sussimg the job out .
your not telling me 50 mph is safe and 56 mph isn’t , come on rob were talking of 6 mph , and to be honest we’ve loads of drivers who drive at 50 mph everywhere and there not doing it too be safe , sensible there doing it too drag the job into 15 hrs for what should be a 10 he day , then if there short they’ll do 6 circuits of the yard to make sure it’s 15 hrs , do they get hassle , no , why , because everyone’s given up on it.
As for lay-bys that’s the point of my post , without the Connors of this world I can make it too bar borough , get a shower , cheap hot food with my tesco card , toilets , even a gym , but by dragging the job out he most likely would consign me too a layby etc .
Zb me he’s now claiming he was going slow because he had a bit of chipboard on , by his maths with loads of concrete I’d never get up a hill on the 66
dozy:
I went both ways across it tues, west bound today with a wide load , I’m going back over east bound tomorrow and I cAn keep it going alright and I’m loaded with concrete not a bit of zb chip board , maybe it’s the driver who’s not up too the job and not the load that slowing you down .:
WTF has the width of the load got to do with it? My mate transports 12-16ft wide loads all the time as he does nothing else and as far as I know his motor is plated for something like 32 tonnes. Whats the weight of your load? I doubt you even know because you’re that thick. Do you truly believe that I lift off the accelerator going up hill? Are you really that dumb?
As for the driver being up to the job, I’m certainly far more up to it than you are especially going on what you’ve posted and what you’ve asked.
And as you know the A66 so well perhaps you’d like to tell me where I could have pulled in given half the laybys were closed, the rest as a result were rammed full of people parked up for the night and by the time I got to one where I could have pulled in we were already on the DC and he’d passed me?
But oh no we’ve got our resident ■■■■■■ who is incapable of thought involved so that didn’t possibly occur to you did it? Stick to being treated like a mug by your boss dozy, you’re good at it. You’re so much of a mug that you’ll do whatever they say even when it means you’ll go home one day to find a Dear John letter on the table cos your wife has got fed up and buggered off. Thats how much your bosses have brainwashed you.
war1974:
could you not have slowed and indicated that he could pass at all? we used to do this or is it frowned upon nowadays?
No opportunities on that stretch other than a small bit at the end of the first DC with the roadworks at a push because its either single/double white line or blind crests. Its a stretch that when you end up behind someone you accept it. On the way over to Penrith we run fairly light around 30-35 tonnes and I pretty much always end up behind someone slower on that stretch. I don’t go trying to shove them up the road because I don’t work for a company like dozys or Robert Burns.
Dipper_Dave:
I’m beginning to worry Dozy is approaching nervous breakdown proportions due to job stress.
Well he did post that his wife had made noises about not being happy as well. I reckon he’s not far off losing it too. We’ve gone from slow decline to starting to drop off a cliff with how miserable he’s been in his posts and he never used to be at all until his job changed.
I don’t normally indulge idiots Dozy, but for you I will make an exception mate.
CHOICE 1; Get reamed in the [zb]hole on a regular basis, and wait until 6 months service before it ONLY costs you £105 to leave.
CHOICE 2; Take a trip to Dubai (highly recommended), and use up ALL remaining holiday entitlement. Then refuse to be bummed until you get yourself sacked. Then you save £315 and have a chance for ones backside to heal.
And if you are really smart, already have premium work lined up ready to go to. Like I did.
AS FOR WELSHBOY. IF YOU ARE READING THIS I APOLOGISE FOR MY REMARKS REGARDING YOUR GOODSELF.
I HAVE MISREAD YOUR POST AND AFTER RE-READING IT, I CAN SEE THAT YOU WERE POSSIBLY AGREEING WITH ME.
PLEASE COME BACK FROM SPAIN. AND BRING ME SOME ■■■■.
DOZY-I AM 43 YEARS OLD AND DELIGHTED TO BE CALLED A KID AGAIN-THANKS MATE!!! Oh…and mind those pesky dot-com vans.
And people…and buildings…and etc.
dozy:
your not telling me 50 mph is safe and 56 mph isn’t , come on rob were talking of 6 mph
Its nowt to do with being safe Dozy lad, its to do with having an on-board computer that tells my gaffa exactly what speed I was doing, in what speed limit, and my gaffa would rip me a new one for doing 56mph in and 50 zone
Mine has a camera, tracker, and speed checker thing that they can bring up on the computer. They are monitored daily, and if it shows even a skerrick of red, then you have your collar felt

fair enough conor been a while since I was up that way but know we used to do things like this mind you we used to flash each other in too which seems to be frowned upon now too.
[uote=“dieseldog999”]i tink you would be better off drinking ovaltine so you can get to sleep instead of reading this pish…whats wrong with if your holding someone up thats got a place to get to and cant pass you, just let him pass and go back to plobbing on at your own rolling roadblock pace…how hard is that.

=“war1974”]could you not have slowed and indicated that he could pass at all? we used to do this or is it frowned upon nowadays?
I would rather this than someone sat an inch off my bumper.
[/quote]
The preferred option. Let them chap on away from ma back doors ( no inuendoes please).
No point me slowing everyone up.
I used to flash drivers past, in fact I did on the way to the M74 from Lockerbie truckstop on Tuesday night to a guy who caught up to me and was following me a few times especially when we passed the Jenkinsons timber plant but he didn’t go past and as time goes on I’m starting to think that fewer and fewer drivers actually know what a couple of flashes of the left indicator actually means.
Like the wagon Trouble drives, all of ours are tracked with speed monitoring as well. Quite how negatively it would affect me I don’t know but I don’t want to find out and I’ve no need to find out because I’m not pushed to run to the last second. Always used to feel bad for those behind us when the limit was 40MPH and we were plodding over the 66 on the SC sections at that as we ended up going up some hills quite slow. But its interesting how those drivers who were all wanting to do 50 are now wanting to sit on the limiter now 50MPH is the legal limit as was predicted on this site when it was announced. If the legal limit went to 60 they’d be complaining their limiters were preventing them from doing 60 and trying to bypass them to get that extra few MPH because they’re never satisfied.
Oh and here is how you do the job dozy. I got a text telling me tomorrow nights run was a 22:15 start to do a Lockerbie which is a 10hr 39m planned run. I told them no and its ridiculous expecting drivers doing a 10+hr shift to start at that time so I’m doing a far more realistic 18:00 start instead and as a result won’t be driving back to the yard trying to hold my eyes open with matchsticks or spending all Saturday in bed. Thats what happens when you open your gob and stand up for yourself a bit.
