Reading through this again I get thIng that this idiot is planning to create an incident in the yard which involves a collision between his vehicle and yours. His object being to claim that the crash was your fault, so keep your camera running all the time in the yard, and if you’ve got sound, do a running commentary when you start manoeuvering with if necessary mention of what he seems to be doing.
The yard has cameras all over the place , if he had any sense or common decency he would own up to it.
Surely in that case, they can just review the footage and sort it out in a few minutes? Or has the footage mysteriously ‘disappeared’?
Good luck getting it sorted out though, the guy sounds like a complete bell end!
Thank you for your reply conan, yes it is on camera , they told me that they had it on camera, & said there no sound on the camera .

You must request a follow up interview - as is your right. They have to give you 7 days notice by law, and in this time you should organize your own “chaperone”, this can be a member of the company or somebody you know if you let the company know in advance.
The reason for this is that you will benefit from somebody “taking the minutes” (making notes on the conversation between you and the employer and/or the third party).
They can either make notes or record the whole conversation via dictaphone. I would suggest that they make notes and you take a dictaphone discreetly into the meeting.
Before you enter the meeting, state your name, the date, who the interview will take place with and the situation at hand.
This way the company can not make a derogatory review of your comments nor can they in any way place blame upon yourself nor defend the third party.
After this, you should be satisfied with a result, however if not you have a solid case for magistrates with plenty of evidence.
Please PM me and let me know how you get on. Very best of luck.

I know there is a bit of a clue in your name, but going off more recent posts in this thread you are a woman?, and a bloke is threatening you with violence ? at work … you should tell everyone you meet. threatening a woman or anyone who is much smaller is a big NO NO. You’re clearly no shrinking violet driving a truck for a living so I guess this guy is well out of order. Get yourself a mini usb voice recorder (ebay link) switch it on and keep it in your pocket when in the yard, if he threatens you again put the voice recording on youtube and post a link on the notice board at work, he will be soon nobby nomates. People hate bullies and men that threaten women are the lowest of the low.
best post yet now that makes sence

If you take a dictaphone in please let them know you are recording this place on table so the sound is good
Next time you have a meeting please take someone else in with you as they may take notes remember thing you don’t if not from same company someone you trust let them know before hand
3 pages & no arguments must be a record
Just because you are a woman there is no place for bullies anywhere

Somebody asked to borrow my dictaphone the other day, told them they would have to use their finger like everyone else.

I can’t go into indepth detail at the moment, it is still being delt with.
I was at work one evening at the depot, & it was in a dark part of very full parking area, I could see that someone opposite was ready to pull forward in there vehicle, & as I didn’t want to hold them up, I pulled my vehicle straight forward, out of the way for them to pull out past me . I put the window down a way and asked can you get past?
I was met by a torren of very aggressive verbal abuse starting with [zb] & continuing with [zb] every few words for a time. He also threatened to hit me.
This is a work colleague. Needless to say I was frightened by the sudden, unnecessary aggression of incident, there was nobody around & a quiet dark place.
Now the new manager says his account of the incident is different from mine.
We had both spoken on different occasions to the new manager to say what happened, & I have now received the typed out details from my interview, which is not a true reflection of the incident, the new manager also was asking other things which were not relevant to the incident. I am supposed to sign this & return it for the next meeting. I won’t sign it as it is not correct.
the new manager has also left parts out, wording things a bit different & written it to put me in bad light !!
The new manager also asked in the first instance if I had recorded it !!!
Has anyone else had this or similar problem , or can shed any light on this type of situation please.
I am a none aggressive person who treats people with respect.
I have also has previous problems with this new manager before , as was on this forum last year.
Somethings not right here, you’re getting recurring problems with this driver, further along this thread you’re also having problems with the warehousing staff, and you’ve also had previous problems with your manager. You’re either very unlucky or some sort of pain in the arse TBH.

A man being violent to a woman is worse than a man murdering a man in my book (although the courts disagree with me
) which is part of the reason that I am satisfied at being a part of marc poli losing his job. I am not violent by nature but in his case I would make an exception because he is everything I hate about humans as a species

The only other people who you should not hit is gay people, and “coloured people”. Infact i reckon the only fair game is a lorry driver in the 25-55 year old bracket , male of course.

Love it when Mike-C gets involved with a thread.
You got your tin hat ready Mike? There’s nothing quite like a damsel in distress to get the TruckNet readership all hot and bothered.
Who’ll be the first hero?
Can anybody make sense of the sailor’s picture and its relevance to this thread?

Yes, he doesn’t pay as much for his booze as you do.

There’s little worse than these goldenball suckups. Boss thinks they’re wonderful, they have a handful of cronies who think the same but in actual fact they are just rubbish scrotes. Been at the firm for years and firmly convinced that it would fold without them.
I hope this incident will be his undoing in some way.
Thank you for your reply socketset, your first sentence 'off the cuff 'sounds about right.

in the event if I was to put a recorder on the table , & they refuse to carry on with the meeting , then where/ how are things likely to progress ? .

thank you for your reply mike, as said previously, I cant go indepth of details . The warehouse staff largely think a drivers job consists mostly of having breaks . They dont realise the working shift for a driver consists of legislation for driving time wtd etc, so when they are not governed by driving time breaks etc they are resentful .
I just crack on with my work , & have an excellent working track record over a lot of years of traceable history.
In the majority of cases, you are on a hiding to nothing raising grievances within a company, because they have the right to conduct the investigation themselves, and if it suits them (which it probably will) they will be far from impartial, especially if you don’t have any real evidence or witnesses. They will most likely only be interested in following the law and not your grievance, so will just attempt to send you around in circles never getting anyway…
You basically have 2 choices, you either quit, or you drop it…
I’m a git who likes my revenge best served cold, so I’d drop it and let the offending driver think he has won. I’d then (if in your situation) set up camera’s and audio equipment and wait for the offender to get smug and complacent, as a leopard doesn’t change its spots. At some point he will (without provocation) resume his abuse and probably up the ante, as he hasn’t as yet achieved his goal. It may take some time, but it’s the only option you have except for quitting.
Whatever you do, don’t antagonise the perpetrator, as that tarnishes you!
But that doesn’t stop you smiling at him and being extra polite, as that’s bound to wind him up!
Best of luck…

in the event if I was to put a recorder on the table , & they refuse to carry on with the meeting , then where/ how are things likely to progress ? .
What I would do is invite them to make their own recording if they are so uncomfortable about having a record with “all” the inflections of speech that are not apparent from a transcript.
e.g the question “how old are you?” can be a request for factual information or a put down depending on the inflection used. If they still decline then I would make sure that I take verbatum notes and make sure that all parties speak at a speed to allow you to do that.
