I know there is a bit of a clue in your name, but going off more recent posts in this thread you are a woman?, and a bloke is threatening you with violence ? at work … you should tell everyone you meet. threatening a woman or anyone who is much smaller is a big NO NO. You’re clearly no shrinking violet driving a truck for a living so I guess this guy is well out of order. Get yourself a mini usb voice recorder (ebay link) switch it on and keep it in your pocket when in the yard, if he threatens you again put the voice recording on youtube and post a link on the notice board at work, he will be soon nobby nomates. People hate bullies and men that threaten women are the lowest of the low.
bonnie lass:
This same guy refused to go past my truck the other morning, so I pulled forward slowly to proceed , & when I got level with him , he then acelerated heavily & went from stationary to tearing up the yard.
This guy sounds like a ■■■■■■, probably a bit inadequate like most bullies, but the situation you’re in sounds like it’s going to get worse, especially if you don’t have the backing of the junior management.
Have you thought about going to senior management?
bonnie lass:
Thanks for your reply dieseldog, l get on very well with the large marority of people working there, however it is a small minority all in a little group who think they are a law unto themselves.
I like my job, surley anybody should be able to go to work , & get on with your job without this threatening behaviour / bullying.
You should be able to, but sadly it isn’t always the reality, people like this can be cunning [zb]'s they’ll make sure they do this in front of their mates or when nobody’s around and if they think they’re getting to you then it just gives them the fuel they need to continue. I absolutely hate bullying and reading about your situation is actually making me angry. But if you wan to stick it out and get it sorted you’ll have to be willing to play a long game.

nasty little [zb] to trip himself up, he was basically trying to get me out one way or another so he could have my job.Tripped himself up by losing it in front of a company director.
Its a difficult situation .
That hopefully will happen one day to him , like it did to the one at your place .
In my case it was more the mind games that was getting me down than the overt threats, although it was violent at times, I’m big enough to stand up and fight and I did have some proper slanging matches with the bloke, but the problem was because he was seen as golden ■■■■■■■■ at the time it was always perceived that I was at fault and was causing trouble.
The guy was trying to get me out and I think he succeeded to do the same to somebody in the previous place he was employed, but I’m a stubborn bugger although at times I did wonder if it was worth the agro, but it probably took a year for the situation to sort itself.

if you aren’t already, join a Union. if you had to go into a disciplinary, a Good union rep will ride rough shod all over a manager promoted above his level of competence.
Just changed that Eddie.
Actually Bonnie Lass the person you really need in any meeting with management is Eddie Snax, I’ve seen him in action, by the time he’s finished, you’d have the bully sacked, the manager demoted and a pay rise for the entire work force.
But it is normally because the management just will agree to anything to stop him talking and leave their office.

A man being violent to a woman is worse than a man murdering a man in my book (although the courts disagree with me ) which is part of the reason that I am satisfied at being a part of marc poli losing his job. I am not violent by nature but in his case I would make an exception because he is everything I hate about humans as a species
Anyway, this situation sounds like your word against his so I would drop it and just avoid each other. If you dont get on then so be it. No great loss either way and it isn’t worth the hassle of a pointless ongoing conflict with a person that you will rarely see anyway (as is the nature of this line of work) so forget it. As for the manager, IF he starts to victimise you then there is always another link in the chain of command

Thank you for your reply keebs, nice to see you have a sense of humour!

Exactly what I meant bonnie lass.
Yes, its quite surprising really, people are seeming lead to believe that everyone ca gain top class results. Unfortunately it isn’t the case after seeing it with my own eyes.
Dipper_Dave:
Perhaps it’s a protective instinct but regardless of equality, PC bollox a woman should always be treated with more respect.Man on man action can be sorted by standing up to the aggressor and lashing it out there and then.
It’s takes a special type of insecure ■■■■ to intimidate a woman.
Until men give birth out their arses women will always in my book command better treatment as mothers of mankind.
Just sayin…
Thank you for your reply dipperdave, it was a totaly unnessessary cowardly attack. I doubt if they would have said a word if it was 'man to man .

Well said Dave
To the OP, I’m sorry to hear of your situation. The false statement offered to you by the company is worthless, submit your own written statement, and keep copies.
If you don’t already, keep a work diary, including vehicle/trailers used, work schedules, always note when asked to deviate from an original work schedule and from who the instruction came from, I always ask for new address/reference numbers etc to be texted to Me even after a phone call, I tell them that I’m not in a position to write info down but really its to cover the backside. In a disciplinary meeting I had, I was able to use my comprehensive diary record. I submitted 2 sides of A4 detailing 3 months worth of errors, that the planner was trying to pin on Me, and that I was able to prove were his own incompetence, our relationship was shot after that, and I did subsequently leave a few months later, but I proved that it was the planners fault, and I wasn’t going to be the fall guy. I know that’s not as serious as what you’ve endured, but I was pretty hacked off at being blamed for someone elses incompetence.
At any meeting that might be controversial, and making a complaint off assault, against a colleague is, take your own representative, helps to back up the facts of the meeting.
If this “Manager” has got your cards marked, then keeping a record of your ongoing work schedules, gives you clout at any future time, when he may try and pull a fast one on you, as pretext to getting you out. Reference earlier paragraph.
Lastly, if you aren’t already, join a Union. if you had to go into a disciplinary, a union rep will ride rough shod all over a manager promoted above his level of competence.
Thank you for your reply eddie , I sounds like you have had a bit of a rough time yourself, I hope its all sorted for you.
I am taking all this information on board , it will be very useful ,thanks. I have got pages upon pages of written diary sheets going back a long way.

Thanks for your reply bluey, I just love driving, & just crack on with my work, its my livelyhood. If people ask me what happened , I will tell them the truth as I always do , I have nothing to hide.
There’s little worse than these goldenball suckups. Boss thinks they’re wonderful, they have a handful of cronies who think the same but in actual fact they are just rubbish scrotes. Been at the firm for years and firmly convinced that it would fold without them.
I hope this incident will be his undoing in some way.

I hope all is well with you now after having those sorts of problems, al least there are laws these days to stamp on bullying, now I have got to tackle the situation head on. Eddie sounds like he’d do a good job of sorting out ghe workplace

Thanks for your reply scanny, I know we ( me & this guy) will have to work together sometimes unfortunately, I have also been asked that too!. I am going to continue with sorting it out though.
Everyone should have the right to go to work to earn a living witout getting bullied or threatened. From what was said in the meeting he has told them a different story!! I know the truth , and if what he has told them is damaging to my character then its deformation of character, and I will get it sorted .

Reading through this again I get the feeling that this idiot is planning to create an incident in the yard which involves a collision between his vehicle and yours. His object being to claim that the crash was your fault, so keep your camera running all the time in the yard, and if you’ve got sound, do a running commentary when you start manoeuvering with if necessary mention of what he seems to be doing.

This helmet sounds a right hard case !Bonnie Lass, learn some form of reality/street based self defence,I don’t mean karate etc: (nothing wrong with that, but you want something that works now) like hammerfist, chin jabs, eye gouges, good old fashioned kick in the nether regions etc:
I’m sure there’s some classes to learn these gutter fighting methods where you live. You can even watch some vids about it on Youtube, practice and if this tough guy starts let him have it,purely in self defence of course
Easier said than done mate. I instructed martial arts for a few years, as well as training myself and there are some people that simply can’t do it no matter how long they try. There’s also the false sense of security side of it too. Instructor says to seven stone woman “there ya go, you can disable a big bloke easily now” Seven stone woman goes out and finds herself in trouble with some chump and finds her self getting a right pasting or worse. I’ve taught people some basic (to me) combinations and had to insist on including body conditioning (you have to be able to take a knock as well as giving) but a lot of people think that they can just deck someone with a flick of the wrist, so to speak. You mention hammer fist, known in Tong Long Kung Fu as Gow Choi. If you use this with an unconditioned hand, you’re just as likely to do yourself more damage than the attacker.
Anyway bonnie lass, I do hope you can either get it resolved to your satisfaction or have a large male friend or two pay this cretin a visit.[
Fair do’s chief.
Though it would be good for Bonnie Lass’s confidence and learning about awareness/situations etc:
Me and a pal of mine learnt some stuff from a book (years before computers and the internet) " All in fighting " by William Fairbairn the man who taught the British Army & other nations armies CQC in World War 2.
He’s an unsung hero, imho & his stuff works, well it did for me a few times
Bonnie Lass. You’ve had all the advice. Just wanted you to know that I think this bloke’s behaviour is despicable. I also think he’s a fool. Knowing you the little bit that I do, it’s a stupid/brave/demented person who would set out to get on the wrong side of you. You may be a woman, but you’re a woman with guts. Don’t let this idiot grind you down.

Thanks for your reply Pete, I think he’s rather stupid too, he’s made a rod for his own back, the longer he leaves it, the harder it will become for him to be a man and own up, it will chew him up inside.

Surely in that case, they can just review the footage and sort it out in a few minutes? Or has the footage mysteriously ‘disappeared’?
Good luck getting it sorted out though, the guy sounds like a complete bell end!
