Congratulations everyone! Some of these politicians commenting need to be hooked out the door “I’m disgusted” “I’m disappointed”
We live in a [zb] democracy the people have spoken. Shut your cake hole.
That idiot from Blur came on the Pyramid stage at Glasto saying that “Democracy had failed us”. BS, this is democracy at work. The people voted.
Yeah, we should take notice of the privileged that don’t have to live in the real world…
But what’s worse are the mindless twerps that cheer and agree with them because they don’t have minds of their own!

If anything, its finally put to light the vast divide between the people who benefited from EU membership and the people who’ve seen it have a negative effect on their lives. Just look at the map of the vote. The areas where the Remain vote was strongest was where they saw the benefit of EU money, London, Scotland, Stock broker belt etc. Contrast that to the areas where the Leave vote stormed though, working class towns like Oldham, Sunderland and Bradford. Places where mass EU migration has driven down wages. This whole notion that was peddled from the Remain camp and its supporters that “if you vote Leave then your’re a racist and xenophobe” has backfired. This is the working class saying “FU” to Westminster and the Elite. Lots of emotions have been dumped on this vote, its more than just the EU and whether we should be a part of it.

That’s what I call the “sixth form mentality.”
Some of the results are only by county council areas, and don’t accurately represent the votes of some towns within them on that map

Can I just say that I am glad I was wrong.
I said I would vote brexit but was sure that the remain would swing it.
If we make mistakes at least we can say it was us.
Very happy indeed
I thought totally the opposite (though I voted for ‘Remain’ by post a few weeks ago as I wasn’t keen on jumping off of a cliff and not knowing how far the drop was) as looking at various forums (including this one of course) and Facebook they were nearly all filled with posters of the ‘Out’ opinion. Also surprised how close the final vote was, and that the London area mostly elected to ‘Remain’ as I would have thought that was where the biggest immigration problem would be?
It will not make much difference to me either way, we have no recent immigrants apart from one Big Issue seller who doesn’t live in the town anyway as we haven’t a lot of jobs in the area for them, but it may help the larger industrial regions to stabilize. Time will tell.
Pete.

That’s not really much of a surprise though is it?
I’d assume a lot of the remain voters are still licking their wounds!
We are just the first brick out of the Berlin Wall others will follow.

Lincolnshire, 70% leave.
I think Boston had the highest leave % in the country at over 75%.
Although that’s no real surprise as finding a needle in a haystack is easier then finding a British passport holder in Boston.
To think that all this could have been avoided - if only the EU had implemented meaningful concessions and reforms BEFORE the referendum.
They didn’t think they needed to - and history is the result.

Knocking bricks out of the Berlin Wall was about unification and reconciliation.
This is about putting walls up, not knocking them down.
Perhaps you are thinking of a house of cards. Yes, there is a good chance this will trigger the collapse, to the delight of many nationalist groups across Europe.
And Putin, and IS.
I am more convinced than ever that Trump may soon be in the Whitehouse with his own wall building agenda.
Looks like we are destined to live in interesting times.
(But we might not have to do the DCPC [emoji57])
Well I voted Remain as I’m sure you know. I’m not squaking about the result, it’s a democracy, 1 vote would have been enough!
The political machinations are going to be fascinating. United Ireland anyone? Scotland and London form new pro EU country and secede UK?
As no need for UKIP Nigel Farage joins Lib Dems on popularity ticket. Boris Johnson says pro EU London can’t be trusted with parliament and moves it to Boston, Linc’s?
Interesting times!

And the arrogance of the institution was its undoing. We got a take it or leave it, and we duly left it
“may you live in interesting times”: an ancient Chinese curse.
BBC Oxford were interviewing a couple of sixth formers earlier. One said “it’s not fair that older people have voted on MY future and I’ve not had a say because I’m only sixteen…”
Well tough excrement, Mrs. Turn eighteen, go out and get a real job* and you can start having your say.
*Proper job is not charity mugging, gap years (building mud huts in Africa), doing pointless college courses like leisure and tourism, going to music festivals or joining Greenpeace.

You do know that peace in Europe has always been about the ‘defence’ of the Nation State ‘against’ the aggression and takeover of the Federation.Whether it be Napoleon’s version or Stalin’s or Hitler’s or Tito’s Yugoslavia in the case of Slovenia and Croatia etc etc.
As opposed to Spinelli’s Socialist Soviet bs propaganda that it was all about the defence of the Federation against the aggression of the Nation. In which case hopefully this is just the first stage in smashing the latest version in the form of Spinelli’s EU.
I wonder what dodgy Dave will do next?
He used to be a man with a plan. Maybe now he could be man with a van.

Rumour has it he gave a 3 month notice because that’s how long you wait for job seekers
