Are zero hours contracts a British thing or is this driven by us being in EU?

Big thanks to the “fly boys” in London last night [emoji106]

British invention from a long time ago.

It’s called the “Jo Cox effect”. It’s slightly strange that a mentally ill unemployed gardener can determine the destiny of a continent, but that is what is happening.

Tommy Mair knows that he is destined to be as famous as Lee Harvey Oswold, and that’s what he wanted, so in a strange way he has been entirely successful.

Well a mentally unstable ex decorator helped cement the need for a peaceful cooperative Europe in the last century!

There’s been no money for Brexit all day. :frowning: :frowning: :frowning:
Meanwhile the financial markets are “not up enough to suggest that a big win for Remain is any surprise”.
The price for a high turnout hasn’t shorted much either - suggesting that it’s the Brexit voters who cannot be arsed to vote in the rain.
Leighton Buzzard voters are turning up - and being told they cannot vote, as they’re not registered… :open_mouth:

VERY suspicious. :imp:

Zero Hours Contracts are most favourable to the Federalists (spit spit - I hate using this word)

Work for firms like DHL at any time or Fedex - and you’ll understand that eventually ALL “regular” jobs will be done this way. Working via an agency makes it difficult to borrow at low interest rates, likely you’ll never get a proper pension, subject to higher taxation, and no Union deals ever. If you ever try to get your EU regulation “rights” though - you’ll be dropped at that establishment, as any client can easily do with agency staff.

This is all being forced upon us in the same way Emancipation was forced upon the southern states, who tried to sucede from their Union to side-step it… The Union declared war upon them. :unamused: :unamused: :unamused:

Are there any full-time jobs left where you get a maximum of a 48 hour week, as we’re told “we get as a worker’s right in the EU?”

  • Not if POA gets used to “extend this amount” of course… A great way of “eliminating overtime” from the full timer’s wage though huh?

Happened to my girlfriend (not in LB though). Turned up, told “Sorry, you’re not on the register” despite the fact that she voted in the GE last year and nothing has changed since then.

Lovely day here Winseer, should b decent turnout.
Thought the Brexit voters were the dedicated ones and the waverers were going Remain. Now you tell us that’s not the case?

Which “southern states” are you referring to in your last post, Nth American or European?

I’m watching the betting market… It fell this morning to 1.10 decimal, and now it’s gone back up to 1.22 as I speak. I’d like to cling to some hope here, but I’m asking myself "How can anyone lump on at such short odds upon Remain - if we’re all screaming that Brexiteers outnumber remainers by 4:1? The odds need to go up past 2.00 before Brexit can be considered “in the lead”. Since that market was first opened MONTHS ago - the price for Remain has NEVER been that high however.

Remain chart 1450hrs.jpg

Like many, I’ve voted Out myself - but I don’t trust the ballot to be fair enough to allow such a result to happen.
…Conspiracy theorist that I am.

Still. I’ve put my money where my mouth is, which above all things - entitles me to my opinions… :sunglasses:

For the benefit of those who only understand “traditional” odds - 1.10 is odds-on 1/9 which paddy power are offering right now for “Remain to win”
The price on the exhcanges though (considered more accurate) has drifted out to 1.22 (odds-on 2/9)

The price has never been as high as 2.00 - which represents “Evens” and would be a real “tide turning” point if this market got there later this afternoon…

When the price goes to 1.01 - it’s considered to have “crossed the line”. Many millions have been lost on the exchange by people betting heavily on such short odds (1/100 ON) - and then getting pipped at the post… But I’m talking about what can happen in sporting evens here.

The horse that appears to stumble at the last fence here - went out to 1000-1 odds for example… Be careful what you click on when betting! Some happy-clicking moron laid the stumbling horse for £836, and lost £836,000 “picking up pennies in front of a steamroller” as it’s known in the betting circles…

Miracles - and extreme upsets - DO happen in betting.

Well apparently chainsaw asked a whole 100 people how they were voting and since they said “out”, this is going to be proof enough that a remain result has been rigged!

I wish the pollsters would say WHERE exactly they asked 39,453 people “which way you intend to vote” - rather than just go down some inner-city street, where you won’t find a patriot for love nor money…

Do these “polls” ever get done in small towns & villages that don’t have Universities to taint the result for example?

I’ve seen plenty of “rural” areas over the past week that look like this…

The only time I’ve seen two Remain posters near each other - was on an overbridge on the A11 two days ago, near Six Mile Bottom. The poster was merely on both sides of the bridge.
Sorry, I don’t have a picture - but I did see it - honest! :grimacing:

Trust me it’s a different story in the Labour/LibDem enclaves in and around London including this area. With Leave representation at the Polling Stations often being insulted and abused quite strongly.(Don’t aske me how I know that ). :unamused:

OVLOV JAY:
Can’t wait to get home tonight and go and cast my vote to leave. Much has been said by both camps, but I’m sorry, I vote with my eyes, not my ears. The so called economists on the remain side are either government bodies, funded by big business or the eu, directly or indirectly. They’re not impartial. It’s all projections and forecast anyway.

What I have seen, when you dig a little deeper, is the government and eu position is accelerated accession for Turkey, Fact. There’s another 4 eastern block countries coming in who will take out more than they will put in, Fact. The financial transaction tax is coming, maybe announced as early as next week, Fact. Ttip is coming, so best get some critical illness cover as you won’t get free cancer treatment akin to the us model, a very worrying Fact. We’ve been told there will be no more renegotiations, this is as good as it gets, Fact. 5.5 million jobs in the eu rely on the uk trade, they will not be able to dry shaft us outside the union, Fact.

We need change, we will never get the chance again, Fact. Get out and vote, and vote to leave

What really gets up my nose with this ‘listen to the economists they all say leaving will be a disaster’ nonsense is that I was listening pretty hard in 2008 when the financial crisis hit and I didn’t hear anything from them then about it.

Imagine the Rabbit is our economy, NHS, workers rights, international credibility etc…the guy is Boris Johnson, and the bat is a Brexit result…get the picture?

And if you believe that is going to disappear if we vote leave then you are more deluded than those believing someone is rubbing the votes out!

If the BBC said, in Russia, the opposition party to Vladimir Putin got 4 million votes yet only one MP, who was actually a defector before the election the newsreader would imply Putin had been up to some election rigging tricks.

Question the use of pencils in this country and the implication is you’re a nutter.
