The eu referendum- how do you intend to vote?

I’m only going so I can write “shake it all about” on the ballot paper under IN OUT

William Hill have revealed some information. They have Remain as strong favorites as do all the bookies.

75% of total money staked is on Remain
25% of total money staked is on Leave

Now bookies all have to respect the money they receive and set odds accordingly to protect heavy losses.

But get this

75% of bets placed are on Leave
25% of bets placed are on Remain

Its the total opposite to what you’d think! The big money is going on remain but the majority of punters are backing leave

This is why multi millionaires like Beckham are saying remain, they’ve lumped big on remain at the bookies

English to become official language of the EU

The European Commission has just announced an agreement whereby English will be the official language of the European Union rather than German, which was the other possibility.

As part of the negotiations, the British Government conceded that English spelling had some room for improvement and has accepted a 5- year phase-in plan that would become known as “Euro-English”.

In the first year, “s” will replace the soft “c”. Sertainly, this will make the sivil servants jump with joy. The hard “c” will be dropped in favour of “k”. This should klear up konfusion, and keyboards kan have one less letter.

There will be growing publik enthusiasm in the sekond year when the troublesome “ph” will be replaced with “f”. This will make words like fotograf 20% shorter.

In the 3rd year, publik akseptanse of the new spelling kan be expekted to reach the stage where more komplikated changes are possible.

Governments will enkourage the removal of double letters which have always ben a deterent to akurate speling.

Also, al wil agre that the horibl mes of the silent “e” in the languag is disgrasful and it should go away.

By the 4th yer peopl wil be reseptiv to steps such as replasing “th” with “z” and “w” with “v”.

During ze fifz yer, ze unesesary “o” kan be dropd from vords kontaining “ou” and after ziz fifz yer, ve vil hav a reil sensi bl riten styl.

Zer vil be no mor trubl or difikultis and evrivun vil find it ezi TU understand ech oza. Ze drem of a united urop vil finali kum tru.

Und efter ze fifz yer, ve vil al be speking German like zey vunted in ze forst plas.

So yes I agree “volume” will decrease, but at least it will all be on UK registered trucks from UK based firms employing UK based drivers and paying back into UK NHS and taxes!

And what about the cabotage scrappage plans? No mention of that eh!

Here let me fix that podium sign for you…

No mention either of the inconvenient matter of ASLEF and the RMT supporting Leave bearing in mind Labour policy of shifting as much traffic as possible by rail anyway. :unamused:

See the vote has been regularly around the 79-8-% to Leave, then now when I’ve looked, it’s dropped to 73% - people getting cold feet?

Considering the reality is probably remain 55% v Leave 45% I don’t think we need to worry about the leave vote dropping to 70% on here.

What Cameron and Juncker do need to worry about is how are they going to make this a state of a USE with 45% of those who give a zb about the place at that point against them. :unamused:

Blimey, that’s been doing the rounds for ages, it first appeared on TruckNet in 2003!

Gosh, for anybody that’s read Orwell’s 1984 and grasped the implications of New-speak, this could be thought of as a little sinister.

No surprise he wants a ‘trade regime that upholds and maintains the levels of trade we have’.No thanks lets have the trade war.

Hopefully he’ll listen to Dolph’s advice in that regard. :open_mouth: :smiling_imp:

The bit I don’t get is what is he so worried about because even I think the leave campaign doesn’t stand much chance. :unamused:

No remainers on to deny it yet either :stuck_out_tongue:

Oh don’t worry, they’ll be along with some CEO of some PLC who says different. Any Establishment figure will do . . . it’s all from the same text.

Surely it will need someone of the calibre of Blair to sort that German own goal out with a statement of total denial.Along the lines that he was actually referring to the even more unlikely possibility of Frexit not Brexit. :smiling_imp:

When you have to rely on Blair to get you out of the sh you know you’re scraping the bottom of the barrel.

Obviously both working on a rota with Brown. :smiling_imp:

Meanwhile Sturgeon’s just realised the contradiction in an independent Scotland ruled by Juncker in Brussels. :open_mouth:
