That one place...

JIMBO47:
any fitness depot location ,they rent the cheapest unit they can, usually the ones in corners ones with no access, bays that block 4 of the neighbouring units and staffed by one man and a dog! who all [zb] off when a customer comes in ,and if really unlucky they come out and tell you back of trailer delivery driver/and no pump truck and the skids contain weights /dumbbells so spend all day on one delivery ( no joking one delivery with 2 of the above skids I hired 2 homeless guys to help me )…was on $15 per drop in those days and per the mile (Canada). I did my share o these drops for a year till I said I’m off if I get another ,it worked and my spot on the rota went to the next immigrant that started. jimmy. :smiling_imp: :smiling_imp:

Should of let the two homeless blokes live in the trailer - sort of like a ready made set of mobile labourers

funny enough when I put the receipt in for the burger meals and a bottle o the local hootch the office said I should have told them to keep an eye for our trucks delivering there . :unamused:

Celsa Cardiff!

Last time I loaded out there, I had a stripped down ex ASDA curtainsider, FH 460 & 28.560t of coil rod iron. Thought that ? Thing was going snap the goose neck before I got home :open_mouth:

Evry builders merchant. All forklift drivers are ■■■■■■■■■

nab:
British Gypsum…East Leake and Kirby Thore
Ridiculous Health and Safety rules.
I was at Kirby Thore today and was pulled up by a health and safety ■■■■ as I was walking up some steps in a corridor.
This idiot then gave me a lesson on how to walk up five steps clinging on to both handrails.
I have been pulled up just about every time I visit for stupid health and safety rules.
The induction course lasted half a hour watching a video with multiple choice questions. Most of it had nothing to do with collecting or delivering a load and was more aimed at contractors fixing machinery or working on the roof.
The next one might get a polite [zb] Off.
As for the loading bays with raised floor around the trailer it is a joke.At East Leake once on a bay you cant open the door and have to climb out the window or risk damaging the n/s wing by parking it against the bay wall and trying to squeeze out the door. They have a couple of bays with a slight opening so the door will open slightly to squeeze out but you can wait hours for one to become available.
I cant believe a company is run like this , you waste hours and loading and unloading.
I have to go back again in the morning

With you on that, the bays at both places are stupid, at least at Robertsbridge, Sherburn and Barrow Upon Soar they are proper bays!

This place in central London. It’s a textile place; the only way to get loaded is to open a couple of metres of rear curtain kerbside, and they lay a wooden plank from the building into the trailer. It’s a collection, so pallets full of clothes boxes get wheeled onto the trailer and handballed (normally > 1000 boxes). It’s basically a container jobby on a curtainsider

Then to Sainsbury’s DC Bedford. Normally ~ 4-5 hours to get destuffed.

The thing under the wiper is a note from Hackney Council saying we can park there. Doesn’t stop them sniffing around when they walk past though!

Kolak snack foods in Park Royal.

that place is the pits and noones southall

I’m pretty sure I’ve done both those drops if it’s same ■■■■ hole places I’m thinking I could be wrong.
I’m sure I delivered to that Kolak if it’s place I’m thinking.
I had drive Down really tight dead end industrial estate then up to the end turn in mega tight corner and reverse blind side for 100 meters on a left hand tight bend with corrugated iron fencing on sides with a road hardly wide enough to fit a car down in an arctic.
Aw the joys of general haulage on chelmer foods delivery multi drop.

Another regular drop was one in Braintree where had go through a housing estate in arctic that use be fun.

No turntable when i went m8,you had to reverse off the main road ,the back door staff were not allowed to stop traffic due to health and safety tripe :unamused:

That must be some years ago, turntable has been there donkey’s years, over 10 to my knowledge.

Yup.

I’ve done milk into their for around 10 years on the agency, the last time was around 6 months ago.

For me it was a Kwik Save shop in my home town of Gateshead at Sheriff Hill to be precise. Double blind side onto a bay around 5 foot off the ground. There were unconfirmed rumours of a driver getting it totally wrong and them having to get a large crane in to get the truck out. Can’t confirm if that is true though.

Ken.

Haha

The traffic warden probably enjoyed ticketing you, as you’re a trampy lorry driver.

Being a lorry driver is infinitely better than being a saddo who trolls internet forums under multiple usernames.

that place is the pits and noones southall

Park Royal is just foul, full stop.

Park Royal is the pits especially Abbeydale Industrial Estate.
Worst one in London for me would have to be VB & Sons on Woodside End, stupid place to build a cash and carry.

I had a delivery to Noones a few weeks ago the Collett way warehouse in Southall, they are having building work done at the minute, had to drive in and reverse out as the builders vans where scattered everywhere.

Ginnis Southall… one way in and then a 1/4 mile reverse to get out if there is one car on the wrong bit of road …

Any tesco express store (: at night no lighting or very few lights, blind side reverse

(With the exception of leicester road loughborough)
