That one place...

Caret Right (shop) Stamford Hill, N. London. Very tight getting in, bloke in shop said that he gets loads of big trucks in all the time (yeah, I fell for that old one), barely able to turn round in their yard which is also the car park for other shops in there, then couldn’t get out due to cars parked on corners!
After an hour I called the police on their 101 number, they sent out a PCSO on a bike who said he couldn’t do anything apart from give the cars tickets as they were on single yellows not doubles.
He sat there with me till one car moved and I could just about squeeze out.
He never did put tickets on the cars! (if I parked on a yellow there would be a bloke writing a ticket before I switch the engine off).

If in doubt reverse in or have a look first!! That’s usually my motto although I did some poxy place in Halifax the other week with a container, woman at the main reception says “you need to head down that narrow side road the warehouse is at the bottom”, I say “is there turning space at the bottom”, “yes trucks all drive down forwards”, “are you sure?”, bloke in the office behind pipes up “yea just head down there and turn round”.

So off I go, drive down to the warehouse to find myself facing the loading ramp with no space to swing a cat… “Wagons are supposed to reverse down here drive” :unamused: Should have gone for a bloody walk and looked!

Golden motto. If in doubt. Get out

I’d like to add the ExCel London for the wonderfully helpful and friendly traffic team they have.
Each member of the team communicates fully with eachother so every member knows exactly what’s
going on as regards to why a Truck is parked where it is for 30 hours with out having to pay.
Once I explained all the why’s and what not’s for the first time I never heard off them again
and I really really reaaaaaaalllly can’t wait to go back again.

P.S This post contains just a hint of sarcasm
