Tesco s ...... soon to be run by stobart s?

Some more Tescos cost cutting exercises…staff at RDC gate houses,no more. Its automated now.

Well that sounds like an immediate improvement for everyone.

Stanley i think its driven or drive they use as i think its the same agency our depot at Hams Hall uses.

Wayne,i’ll post some pic’s on here for you of me doing 3 Metro deliveries around the Midlands with my 6 wheeler,it could be done as long as you took your time.

I used to have a couple of motors on for Tesco out of Welham Green, 6x2s & they never had a problem getting in anywhere, even the ones in the city, I did a few myself & the one at Portobello Rd was a real pig but as the old saying goes ‘there’s drivers & there’s licence holders’ :unamused:

jase:
Believe me Alphamale,ESL will make it work and surely if it all backfires won’t you be out of a job?

We are all hoping it does backfire, because the way Tesco have shafted us means every driver here could not give a toss if it all goes ■■■■ up…
Jobs like ESL are ten a penny so its not even an issue if we are “out of a job” ,

Give your self a big pat on your back then, there,s a “super trucker” in every yard.

In the days when you lot had little swb units then a 6 wheeler would’ve been harder to put in a hole, but now there’s no difference apart from a little tyre scrub.

Super Trucker, thanks Wayne I may add that to my posts, mind you praise is relative to the person doing the praising, are you a decent driver or just one of them whinging tossers who couldn’t drive a nail into a block of wood with a 10lb sledge

Wayne:
I wonder what ESL will do with all those Axor units, can’t see many drivers wanting to go tramping in them, and how are ESL going to be able to deliver to Tesco Metro and express stores as well as some of the other bigger stores with questionable access in 6 leggers.

They are looking to get rid of Tesco in house drivers T+C’s to cut costs pure and simple.

Tesco have, at this quite time of year, reduced the guaranteed 8 hrs pay for agency to 6 hrs at Magor and we have to accept it or there is no work for us.
Can’t see them going back to 8 hrs now. What’s next, a reduced hourly rate down to 1 clubcard point per hour worked.

Wayne,

I saw my first Merc Axor with ESL markings on the door, Fleet # T647 IIRC,
It was in Fradley last night, the “Eddie Stobart” is below the TESCO decal, with T647 below that IIRC, it was late, and i`d been on a long time

Morrisons next?

Whatever, playground urine taking was left at the school gates.

Well you started it, nerr nerr nerr nerr nerr

Here’s those photo’s Wayne,

tidyed up the link ,jb

Sorry,they haven’t come through properley,i’ll try again,

I see that you have tipped at Nuneaton.
The pic with the chippy in it.
The h+s sheet they gave me said that I could drive around the back and spin it around.
I parked up and walked behind the shop.
:open_mouth: Spin it around!
You wouldn’t be able to spin a lwb transit in there never mind a truck.
The manager said that someone did try and took the rear wall out.

Heard Union made Pressure to Tesco to employ more Driver and let them do for Agency on there Site,as many work anywhy so good as permanent at Tesco

Cheers jb for tidying the link up,i’ll master this posting photo lark one day.

Yes,that Nuneaton express is good one,the drivers who done the reccy for that need shooting,as the map to get there is weird one as well.

That does not look like a tricky store, looks like a straight reverse with a 10m rear steer. Not saying it was not hard or anything, but your pictures just show a 6 legger and a small trailer in a straight line.

Yes Wayne, you drive in to where i’m parked and then reverse out blindside into a small parking area in front of 5 different shops, then spin round and back upto where i’m parked.

Obviousley i bow to your superior driving skill Wayne as you seem to know the store better than the people whoe actually deliver there so i think i will leave this subject now as closed from me anyway.

Now this is why I get ■■■■■■ off, you say its easy to deliver to Metro and Express stores in a 6 legger, but when I question the feasibility of doing so based on your photos you get all defensive .

When did I say that I was superior to you. Please quote If you need to. I have not delivered to the store you went to, and never will due to my location, nor will you go to the stores that I deliver to.

There are stores you will have real problems with in the wrong unit, believe me.
But that said, if you toss the Tesco risk assessment out of the window then you get in the ■■■■, they wil not back you up.

Enjoy it.
