Supermarket work,cutting up the job

Fileep:
I agree with the above, I am even worse to most drivers eyes than him! I will do whatever it takes to get the job done asap, hourly paid or salaried. I will tip/reload on break, on the limiter as often as possible. Rightly or wrongly I just want to crack on and get home. Not intersted in gaining brownie points off the office coz they can’t be arsed how long it takes anyway. There was a post on here earlier this year boasting that he had done over 80 hours in a week, WTF would you want to that! And he definately spins the job out!

■■■■!! Now it’s going to start all over again!!

Fileep! What are you like?

I bet you could knock 30mins off my time doing my run

Reason number 104 not to do supermarket work, you always have 17 pairs of sneaky eyes watching how long you ■■■■ for.

And the reason I will always opt for a 2000 or 3000 km trip with a delivery time of “Wednesday”

Tyler. Take a step back young man. that last post is way OTT with the personal abuse. It’s an internet forum not real life. :open_mouth:

Agreed, but I think Dave has been a bit over the top as well…

OK this might be my last post in this thread :exclamation:  Just see what the response is

Given the fact that tyler4164 has made a a lot of uneccessary, unwarranted and downright abusive remarks not just in this thread but in another totally unrelated thread that have been aimed at me personally, I think I have been extremely restrained in my replies. :exclamation:

If some of my post’s had been read properly it would be seen that I gave tyler4164 every opportunity to challenge me about carving a job up.
If I had just come on here and said that I now did the work of 2 men and they were moaning about it I’m sure it would have opened up a healthy debate on this very same subject ‘carving the job up’ :unamused: :unamused:
Go back a page or two and you will see that that is exactly what I’ve said and exactly what I do now but the opportunity to open up the debate into something that might have had a constructive outcome wasn’t taken :exclamation:
Just the usual bollox of making abusive remarks about things I had never said, even when I explained myself in very simple terms it was ignored and brought about another round of abuse.

OK thats it for me, unless anyone else wants to continue the discussion in a reasonable manner

Okay which jobsworth reported the picture? :unamused:

And NO it wasn’t me!!

I’ll give you an answer Dave.

Tyler explained his run , rightly or wrongly a few disagreed.

You also answered Tyler whilst being patronising and throwing in some petty name calling, which in turn it all got out of hand.
I think you pretty much deserved what you got imo, now you are back posting and trying to appear to be the reasonable party , when you aren’t.

I posted ^^^ up there that a lot of drivers in many companies are just the same , do a job in 15 or 20 minutes than someone else the moaning starts. Drivers always asking what job you have so they can try and gauge your run time :unamused: A few years back I used to tell lies so even if I had a total crap job I would say it is one of the good ones so people eventually started moaning I got the good jobs all the time  Then another favourite was saying I had one of the crap long jobs when I really had a good short one and then see the look on their faces when they thought I had proper carved a long one up …
■■■■ heads the lot of them.

well i worked for a multi drop firm, regular runs same run every week, everyone was happy drivers customers ect, then a new guy started thought he was the bees knees and started getting back to the yard early, managers noticed this and asked why?? dunno the answer but he was then put on all the other runs over a period of time, result? unhappy workforce unhappy customers…

i,m not in favour of dragging the job out but then i also want an easy time, i dont want to feel pressured into hitting targets ect, so i will take my time, have a cuppa when offered,

if you cut a run time by x amount of hours managment will expect it to be reduced again, and if you are unfortunate enough to have a ■■■■ poor planer…

I opened a right can of worms on this.

One of our drivers used to do a regular run, torquay, exeter, honiton, dorchester & yeovil. Hes been on this run for almost 8 yrs & was taking about 10 1/2 hrs to do it but sometimes abit longer. Anyway the round was changed slightly because dorchester depot closed & weymouth was added meaning the round was slightly longer. To cut along story short the driver was taken off the round & i was put on it, The driver was not happy & is still protesting months later. I find this round so much better then my old round & i can do it easily in 9 1/2 hrs sometimes less. The driver who used to do it has said to me i must be speeding etc to do it in that time & i should slow down but this is not the case. I just like to get on with the job & im not gonna change the way i work because he says so. I have been told by the staff at the different drops that he used to hang it out longer to get overtime but i have a life outside this job that i love so i like to get it done & get home. I think the driver in question has had it easy & didnt want the bosses finding out just how long this round really takes.
Now i know some of you will probably think im stupid & its people like me who make this job harder for others by getting it done quicker but i dont care. I am paid for 48hrs a week & anything over that is paid at time & a half but theres more to life then money.

Bloody hell mate :exclamation: :exclamation: so over 5 days youv’e gained 5 hours of extra home/life time :unamused: :unamused:

Don’t think you are stupid mate  just think your attitude is typical of the new crop of drivers, self centred and selfish. It won’t be long before another fella comes along and takes 45mins; off the time you are doing it in but hey ho will you accept that or complain about it

Youv’e chopped a guy’s regular run down by a measly 1hr and your bosses love you :open_mouth: :open_mouth:  you’d better hope they still love you when the next speedy guy get’s a start and carves your little run up coz you might find it difficult to find any more runs to carve up.

Bet all your workmate’s love you fella. :astonished: :open_mouth:  :unamused:

For paul@midway, sarge & stevie, the only reason I came back on at 1213 last night is that I had just driven 300miles and hadn’t long been parked up :exclamation:

This was my first response to tyler4164 and nowhere in this post have I been abusive or patronising to him but in your 3 opinions I got what I deserved for actually highlighting what has gone on in the game for time immemorial.
Isn’t it strange that you three still don’t seem to have read my post’s correctly :unamused: :unamused:

Once again I will try to open this debate and make it very simple for the cognitively challenged amongst our TNUK colleagues by saying that :-
I NOW DO A RUN THAT WAS PREVIOUSLY DONE BY 2 MEN, I DO MORE DROPS, TAKE LESS TIME, if you deduct the 9hr reduced break, USE LESS FUEL AND GET PAID MORE MONEY :exclamation: :exclamation:
Have I carved the job up or not

And once again I’m only on at this time of night after doing 10 drops and 360mls today.

Regards
Dave Penn;

so, you didn’t continue to call him “Toilet4164” then, did you? Sorry, I misread your posts. If you want to be patronising, that’s fine (I enjoy doing it too), but don’t be surprised if the patronisee takes umbrage
BTW, patronising means “talking down to” in case you didn’t know. :smiling_imp:

Sarge, I used that adjusted moniker after he had made a lot worse abusive remarks to me, not just in this thread, but in another totally unrelated thread that I had contibuted to. In this thread I never called him a D F or a ■■■■■■ or that he was talking out of his backside or made comments about his personal life.
Oh and BTW it wasn’t me who was threatened with being put on pre-mod now was it

Once again I’ve tried to open the debate in a civil manner but it appears that I’m wasting my time with some of the people on here.

Dave Penn;

But don’t remember any arguments about carving jobs up on night trunking back in the days before limiters job and finish and no paid for breaks. It was more like truck racing than trunking.

What picture.Did’nt see any picture because someone censored it.

@ Dave tbh I dont care about your run or how long or short it is. I’m not the type that cares about what other people are doing or where they are going. I dont care if they do a job quicker than me or hours longer than me. Its not my job to give a ■■■■ what anyone else doing. So I dont.

Sometimes I think the older drivers at any company have got nothing else better to do than moan about almost everything. I swear some of them would moan at themselves in a mirror.
I would be very careful who some of them moan at mind,an older driver at a place I worked at years ago was suspended and sacked over bullying. Why? Because he never stopped giving some people a hard time over run times and they reported him.

Get over what other people are doing and concern yourself with your own work.

I never did understand why some drivers at firms take more interest in what others are doing, and it is usually the longer serving blokes too, personally I won’t tell anyone because I get sick of the moaners.
I used to cut the job up on tippers when we were paid bonus, just to get the extra loads and the best paying work but I felt that was fair game, didn’t make too many friends mind but now I am on container work i stick to the speed limits, take my breaks when I want them and generally take it easy, I have to say it’s a lot less stressfull
