Bring it on…like ive said my last run was harder but i got on with it & got it done & work the same no matter how many drops ive got. You lot dont get it do you. I do less then 48hrs but get paid for 48, dont work holidays, get 5 weeks annual hol plus bank hols, anything over 48hrs paid at time & a half. Only have to work mon-fri with no wkend work or nights out. I wouldnt want to have to work mega hours to earn a living…ill leave that to all you much more professional drivers. Oh & im paid my breaks so i do actually get authorised by my boss to sit on my arse & get paid
Oh by the way they have given the other driver an even easier run, said he would drag it out to get atleast 10hrs a day but hasnt been able to do it. Only been able to make around 39hrs a week but still getting paid 48hrs. I could be moaning bout that but i aint. The company doesnt want us doing more then 48hrs to cut down on overtime costs. I suppose i should of pointed this out at the start but hey ho.

I’ve brought you to task because in your little world it seems everyone else drags the job out and is paid for sitting in lay by’s. You have explained how the other driver had done this run for 7yrs and now you do it but you do it a whole 1 hour quicker
I know if I had been moved off a regular run after 7 yrs I would be ■■■■■■ off and even more so if I had to put up with someone like yerself saying I had been dragging the job out and you have proved that by doing it that little bit quicker.

Thats just it, if you read my original post all i said was i had been put on another round that i thought was easier & that the other driver wasnt happy & thought i must be speeding. Nowhere did i say i hated the other driver as we get on ok, nowhere did i say i was better then anyone else, nowhere did i say i was trying to big myself up because i dont think theres anything special about driving a bloody truck. i only pointed out that i didnt think he was happy as i got the round done quicker as i wasnt bothered about overtime etc.
It was indeed some of you more so called proffessional drivers who came on & told me i was carving up the job & i gave my opinion back. I was leading on from the first post in this thread thats why i said what i said. I dont know any of you guys on here so dont care what you think of me but when people insult me or accuse me of things i just do it back thats all. After all thats what forums are for.

OK OK DAVE i apologise for the personal attack but i still believe you was out of order saying i was carving the job up etc etc. I cant help the way i work & will never change the way i work. Its only a job & it can be stressful enough for some of us.

Tyler work how you want to and tell nobody anything, one of the biggest problems in this industry is all the nosey parkers that want to know what everyone else is doing all the time, sticking their noses in to your business when it’s not invited and then going off and moaning behind your back and making all kinds of accusations. Like whiney ■■■■■■■ if you ask me and they are everywhere.
Seriously they need to get a life. Thankfully these types are very easy to spot.

One of our drivers used to do a regular run, torquay, exeter, honiton, dorchester & yeovil. Hes been on this run for almost 8 yrs & was taking about 10 1/2 hrs to do it but sometimes abit longer. Anyway the round was changed slightly because dorchester depot closed & weymouth was added meaning the round was slightly longer. To cut along story short the driver was taken off the round & i was put on it, The driver was not happy & is still protesting months later. I find this round so much better then my old round & i can do it easily in 9 1/2 hrs sometimes less. The driver who used to do it has said to me i must be speeding etc to do it in that time & i should slow down but this is not the case. I just like to get on with the job & im not gonna change the way i work because he says so. I have been told by the staff at the different drops that he used to hang it out longer to get overtime but i have a life outside this job that i love so i like to get it done & get home. I think the driver in question has had it easy & didnt want the bosses finding out just how long this round really takes.
Now i know some of you will probably think im stupid & its people like me who make this job harder for others by getting it done quicker but i dont care. I am paid for 48hrs a week & anything over that is paid at time & a half but theres more to life then money.
I agree with the above, I am even worse to most drivers eyes than him! I will do whatever it takes to get the job done asap, hourly paid or salaried. I will tip/reload on break, on the limiter as often as possible. Rightly or wrongly I just want to crack on and get home. Not intersted in gaining brownie points off the office coz they can’t be arsed how long it takes anyway. There was a post on here earlier this year boasting that he had done over 80 hours in a week, WTF would you want to that! And he definately spins the job out!
