Stobys on strike

Irishredmist:

Fair play! Good Luck to you lads and I pray that none ship over to strike break! :sunglasses:

Wasn’t there an issue in Livingston, where Stobart drivers refused to cross a picket line?
[/quote]
That was a while ago! Most would not! But TV celebrities have shown not all! I’m on the Rail so I definitely won’t be in Dublin or any other Irish depot! I support my brother Irish! And there are loads of Irish in the Northwest! :sunglasses:

Tesco screw Stobbies so Stobbies screw the drivers

whos to blame again Tosco

jessicas dad:
the english lads should come out in support but they wont to [zb] scared. :imp: :imp: :imp:

Don’t talk ■■■■■■■■ Alex. I won’t be crossing any picket line but that’s a world away from me “going on strike”.

The Irish lads didn’t “go on strike” when there were mass redundancies in lokeren did they? (and i wouldn’t expect them to either)
Theres some ■■■■■■■■ spouted on here at times.

stobarts are asking english trampers to work in ireland next week.thats not for me sorry.

That will be the lads out of Appleton Thorn then zodiac! The lads up there should tell them to “do it yerself” As they(management) know better than the drivers!

Couldn’t happen to a nicer bunch than the planning team at AT!

The roads in Ireland are shiate. That’s coming from 2nd generation. Most drivers from here, me included would be climbing the wall after a few days over the way.

Stobarts will get some trampers to go over (do they have any left?) the lads who daren’t say no or do anything the’yre asked or maybe it will be first assignment for their new “Franchisees” Just do us this little favour and your new motor won’t get fire bombed or anything.

0ver 60 of the sherburn trampers were asked if they would go over to ireland ,and they all declined this offer.

dessy:
The trouble with Stobart is they want to max the hours available! Even when not necessary! They want to work the lads in Ireland beyond any normal and reasonable hours for what they are doing! Same as they push the newbies here in the Bean! :open_mouth:
Is the road network in Ireland that bad? I haven’t been since 2007! But the road network was pretty good then!
Typical Stobbies!! Max work minimum pay! :unamused:

But when the drivers get told they are only to do 13 hour days they start crying?? Give me 15 hours days a day and i’m happy. Away from home, may as well work.

Correct me if I’m wrong! Aren’t these drivers shift men for Tesco store deliveries? Why would they want to work 15 hour shifts? Unless the hourly rate was crap!

Tramping and doing 15 hours is one thing! Being asked to work those hours against your own wishes is unreasonable or is it? :open_mouth:

Another interesting article in the Irish Times this week and a HUGE payout for STOBART

There is also more lads in the pipeline

They don’t like it up 'em.

Irishredmist:
As I said before I work at that site in Dublin. The access road is not a place you’d want to get stuck in, there is NO way out!
Any driver attempting or forcing himself in would be very brave or stupid :imp:
If you type Ballymun, Dublin into google see what come up

As for the roads in Ireland, things have improved greatly, I’m on motorway 99% of the time.

Aint picket lines these days supposed to be freindley protests against what your on strike for. I work for stobarts in the uk and i know some off the lads who are off across if the strike happens. the days off chucking bricks and that is now illegal and if it does happen im sure the police would be there to move the protest on or shut it down

Didnt mention bricks or violence - if you know the design of the road you’d know what I’m talking about
THERE WILL BE NO TROUBLE

You all need to support this action. It is for your benefit - stand firm.

strike thur 0600 to friday 1830 and seems that they will be a big turn out from what i hear that they could be problems as stobbies have been the union members

Don`t need a passport for ROI, never have done!!

Partly right as it’s the Common Travel Area.

You do need one if you’re flying Ryanair

Bmi or Aer Lingus it’s fine with a photocard driving licence, but a passport saves any doubt with the Garda immigration official at Dublin airport. (they may ask extra questions if there is doubt about your nationality).

Never been stopped or checked coming off the boat though.

I was at Scania in Haydock yesterday, there was around about 10 Polish registered low loaders each with 3 new Scania units on, all ready for wrapping up in Stobart wrap. The red and white is already there. Inside the workshop there was 2 units being prepped, both already donning the ‘12’ plate ! The girl said they have 350 on the order out of there alone, doesn’t sound like they too worried at Stobarts then ! I took a pic, I will upload it if i get the chance and can be bothered

all this is to do with stobart uk not putting ethnic girl,s names on the front of their trucks.

Not much happening on the news about this, hence having to scratch around local radio station websites
