Did u get an answer to your questions Rowley? It seems such a long time ago
Yes thanks. I mainly wanted to know what the company was like to work for, from some people who aren’t totally negative about them, but I knew if I just asked that at the start of the thread I would basically have opened yet another thread for everyone to say what a ■■■■ company they are!
On the whole they are ok. The longer u r there the more things annoy u. But thats the same everywhere.imo. I wish a union could get in there,so that wage negotiations wasn’t so one sided. It seems its a take it or leave it negotiation now. On the whole they r ok. I could earn more, but I’m not stressed rushing riund all day. Good luck.

Why dont you ask their drivers face to face on the road, theres plenty to choose from
I’m about to start with them, got my licence with them. (licence acquisition scheme £2400) For a brand new c+e driver it’s a great opportunity. 2 day induction next week.

I have just used the “stobart training academy” to qualify from class 2 to class 1. And the rubbish posted on here is simply laughable. It simply is an excellent facility for anyone wishing to gain their hgv licences. How anyone can find a flaw in it is beyond me, unless you haven’t used it and are simply following the truknet uninformed opinion. with regards to gaining your licence, its a dedicated training and examining facility that’s very thorough and good value for your hard earned. Clearly its popular to knock it as it is run by stobarts. I would recommend it to any aspiring hgv drivers.cheers
Looks like the brainwash classes are successful after all

…even I am tempted now by that …and I’ve already got a Class1
, but I do look soooooo hot in green
, so where do I sign up?
rob roy how very dere you sit down mate and hav a beer and re think that last post
Ha ha, this is class must admit there’s not as many knockin Stobbies as there used to be.
The last time I was on the Forum I was working days for a pittance and slagging of Stobart’s at every opportunity.
I now work for ESL as a Night tramper, (yes one of those Guys in a layby during the day that you day drivers go out of your way to disturb lol)
Did my 2 days at the Academy easy money and as said it count’s as two of your CPC, I started with them about 8 months ago first truck was a 12 plate Scania that was worn out 560,000Km on the clock, got my 15 plate about 4 weeks ago had to pick it up from fleet 34.5km on the clock that’s not even delivery mileage.
I do 5 shifts 4 nights out and take home around £630 I have to do 12 extra shifts a year (contract) these can be start or finish of week I like to do mine at the start which is Mon-Fri so my extra shift is today or should I say 19:00 tonight for that week I will take home £750.
The job is a breeze the planners are polite when you speak on the phone to them and they do listen to you (but don’t always act).
The biggest annoyance is de-kitting the truck every week I leave nothing to be light fingered, but I travel light and now have this down to a fine art so any drivers who want to give it ago then go for it and for those who want to keep knockin then go ahead.

5shifts '4 nights out for 630 take home![]()
Well that’s got to be somewhere in the region of £900 for 5 shifts hasn’t it? There’s plenty here who’d like some of that action! Of course he just may be factoring expenses into that figure, which opens up an entirely separate debate.

its 5 night shifts and 4 days out
OVLOV JAY:
Personally I would never work somewhere that stops breaks from your wages. I had a couple of warehouse jobs when I left school, had an hours dinner and 2 15 min breaks and got paid 8hrs plus any ot. Why should you lose an hours overtime to compensate for a break you have a legal right to take
Royal Mail don’t pay for breaks. 36h 15m basic for just under £29,000.

I have nothing against stobarts, and iv never met any of there “real drivers” but there iv had encounters with there “A team” in barcelona and austria this year and from these two encounters i can only say that all of them are idiots. It doesnt surprise me at all that anyone working/driving for stobarts arent allowed to sleep inside the red bull ring itself due to all the ■■■■ they caused last year.

£900? Not a chance, about 160 of that 630 will be tax free expenses.
Where did the £900 come from I wish, unlike our Agency drivers I don’t make up numbers my wages as a Night Tramper are on average £630 for 5 shifts 4 nights out that includes 22.50 night out money and £15 a day meal allowance, on a 6 shift week (6 shifts, 5 nights out) I come out with around £750 now some may say good and some may say bad but all I know is my old job as a Day tramper paid £550 for 70+ hours and 5 nights out every week. Now I’m quid’s in and get a longer weekly rest
