Hi just a quick one does anyone know roughly how much does a stobart night shift class 1 driver take home a week?
Thanks

£230 per week net for a normal amount of hours unless you live at work then its slightly more

[zb] me, What decade are you living in?
Another [zb] numpty that thinks he knows all about Stobarts cos his brothers friends mates uncle did a shift for them in the 80’s. :unamused:

eddie stobart pay £7 an hour on a recent post on here 2012 rates work it out yourself on salary calculator numpty

I earn more than £7 per hour, plus bonuses etc. And yes, i do work for stobarts. And i dont do much more than 55/60 hours a week.
And what does it matter to anyone who doesnt work for them what we do or dont earn.
none of your ■■■■■■■ business, so worry about your own wages before you jump on the bandwagon.

As a self-employed agency driver I get £10 ph flat rate (no overtime rate) for work at Stob/Tesco Widnes. Night rate is only £1ph more. This is why I don’t work nights. I find the traffic staff at Widnes surprisingly nice, respectful and helpful. This is not the case at other Stob depots at which I have worked.

You wouldn’t be talking about the midget at Heywood by any chance then

More than a couple of times I have felt like smacking that guy right on the nose :unamused:

Lol, get in the queue mark. Lol

The basic rate from Monday to Friday, between 6.0018.00 is £ 7.20. and every shift has £ 13 tax free meal allowance. I think, from 18.00 to 6.00 is £ 8.50, and the Saturday is £ 9.50, Sunday and Bank Holiday Monday are £10.50.

I’m more interested in what this guys gross taxable pay is as that is his wage. Not all of these non taxable allowances and bonuses used to inflate the figures.

What are your approx start/finish times on your 5night-shifts for Stobart per week
Are they the stupid start@ midnight finish@ lunchtime sort of shift  :open_mouth:
Can you draw those kind of gross wages on a Mon/Fri or Sun/Thur night-shift week or are you working mostly over the weekends

Could only wish somebody here in NI would pay those kind of gross wages for 5nights :exclamation: :exclamation:

Different rumours here every day about Stobart coming over to set up in NI, the latest is they are building a massive coldstore in Newry and are going to bring all the Tesco loads from the mainland into Warrenpoint docks and deliver all over both North AND South from there :exclamation: :exclamation: :unamused:

Contact your tax office and ask to check if you already receive the uniform cleaning allowance (i forget the tax code for it). If you are not already in receipt of it then you ask for it to be included in your tax coding…I have heard its about £60 per year and can be back dated :open_mouth:

Was waiting awhile to see if anybody came back but had to “bump” it :exclamation:

Can any Stobart nightshift driver answer my query please

Juddian:
The hours blokes employed there need to work for an average take home pay is nothing short of scandalous, its not 1963 any more, people shouldn’t need to work two weeks every week for just an average wage.

I think that is the gist of Winseers posts.

I’m seeing rates up north for class 1 starting below £7 an hour… but don’t worry lads, there’s plenty of hours in it for you!

My brother in law is a factory labourer working an average of 39 hrs, take hoe pay over £500 a week, plenty of time with his family, but no uniform.

Does it matter how much everyone earns, if your happy where you work and have enough money to enjoy yourself whats the problem?

Or is it that typical working class thing where everyone has to shout about much they earn and the hourly rate, yet still rock up at the pub in a clapped out m-reg mondeo?

You could do a full week in a local sawmill around here for a couple hundred quid.

I did a shift last Saturday for my local agency. The usual rate for them on Saturdays is £10-11 ph.
Imagine my dismay when my payslip came yesterday and my rate was £9 ph!!
Thats a £26 pay drop for that shift. It may not sound a lot but that was the only shift I had last week so amounts to a 20% pay cut.

I am not prepared to do it any longer for that money. I was straight onto the agy and told them I will not do any more work for them for less than £10 sats £12 suns, and only if they offer work on both days. They can’t keep squeezing the drivers rates down just to maintain their profit margin. I would rather drive 130 miles to the Midlands and stay Saturday in a hotel earning £14 ph than put up with the ■■■■ rates they pay here in Hull.

Christ,
that would be a hard life for a man with a young family@ school, you’d hardly get to see them :exclamation: :exclamation:
I hate starting anywhere between 0800 and 1800 for that reason alone.
