Actually Beattun, they are loved and respected the world over. Thats probably why it most probably the worlds most popular language. The UK has historically had a large immigrant population, or more specifically England has. Made up funnily enough of a large amount of Irish (my self included). Do you think thats where your train of thought comes from, given that probably next to Iraquis and Afghans, the Irish hate the English more than anyone?!!

This has all got a bit off track with the whole racism bit.
The point i am trying to make in the strongest terms is that it is my belief that the average truck driver in the uk is being shafted by the bosses/union big wigs/mp’s. And i don’t see why i should help them do it.
As it happens the guy in question is a thoroughly nice guy and when i explained my position he agreed with me. Because you see the eastern europeans know what it is to get shafted by governments, and they also know how to fight back .
Also when anybody brings up the subject off pay they get told you know where the gate is we can get more immigrants no prob.
For those who don’t see it as a problem, i wonder how you will feel when a similar situation comes to your doorstep. And when you look around for another better paid job you find they no longer exist.
Incidentally many poles/czechs etc hold these exact same views about turks/ukrainians/russians. Ask em. Or perhaps it’s easier to live in a false utopia.

If England is so over run by Poles, leading to no jobs and crap wages, how come agencies are trying to get me to go work in the south of england for more money and putting me up in accomdation. Supposedly these places are desperate for drivers.
Other guys ive been working with up here been working down in England which seems to be finacially rewarding enough they can constantly travel back up here on there days off.
I think it comes down to some employers unwilling to pay a decent wage, in some cases greed in some cases operating costs soaring so can’t afford to pay decent wages.

I have mixed views on the subject. Years ago I would argue that we should all stick together and help each other out etc, regardless of which corner of the globe we come from, but this “sticking together” ■■■■ went out of the window a long time ago. Now it’s every man for himself and ■■■■ anyone that gets in their way, and it’s true.

In the past 12 months I’ve experienced first hand both a Morrisons driver and Culina driver of Eastern European origins label the English as lazy scum and how their countrymen will be running our country in 10 years time and taken over all our jobs. And then spat on the ground near my feet.
Yes, okay, who can blame them as we are a lazy country when it comes to work and we should be directing our anger at “the system” and not them, but when you hear stuff like that from them first hand it does enrage you and turn you against them.
You only have to take a look at the jobcentre website to see the impact they’ve had. 2-3 years ago you’d see page after page of £10/hr agency jobs in Northants but now they’re all £8.50-9.00 and it doesn’t take a genius to work out what’s caused that. Wages are on a downturn (esp. agency), there’s no doubt about it.
I have helped them in the past with directions and even leading them right to the door, but I wouldn’t do it now. If they want to cut it in this country then they first of all they can learn to speak the ■■■■■■■ lingo and then they can learn from their mistakes like the rest of us had to do instead of being handed it all on a plate.

anyway, without going off topic again, i just want to clarify once more that im not anti-english, and if i was i wouldnt last too long nor would i want to, on a UK forum, my experiences from travelling have shown me that as a general rule the english are not well liked, and that was why i said what i said.
my original point was that i thought you were being a prick by not helping that bloke, and i stand by it.
