Hunters do whistle it’s the flow of the air over guns that makes the noise.Best to wait for the BoI it might be suprisin what comes out.
Wonder if he’ll get the same deal as the Glasgow bin lorry driver.I’m going by what seems to me to be an abandoned climb and loop with what sounds like a stuttering thumping intake sound and light rushing whistling sound when it should sound like this. There’s really no comparison between the two respective engine notes or performance levels.
I didn’t know you were a pilot too. Full of suprises!
Pilot Wail?

I only hope .
There is no knee jerk reaction about airshowsThis might at least help to confirm that it might have been an engine problem not a pilot error. That sounds like a sick unresponsive engine to me with what possibly sounds like surging at the top when it ran out of climbing ability.Or the relatively light rushing and whistling at what would be expected to be a deafening roar during the last chance call for power before running out of room.
It does sound like it’s struggling.

At that point it’s already in correct trim to climb. However the exhaust doesn’t show the long hot shimmering exhaust trail of an engine running at full take off power.IE the road signs and trees and car behind the plane in the pic should all be a blur of hot exhaust gas.
To me it seems like a case of de ja vu and a similar situation as Tintagel.Except this time the pilot seems to have either chosen to try to fly the thing out of harm’s way or didn’t have time and/or height to eject followed by the massive fire when it hit the ground.
On that note if the Tintagel plane wreckage had caught fire as in this case then I probably wouldn’t be here today.
Please stop.

I may as well try this question again…

What a startling thought. The idea of Trucknet being free of you is incomprehensible, let alone the fact that the world would have lost the planets most knowledgeable man. Thank god it never came to pass. Now, I trust you are in contact with the CAA, you having solved the problem already will save them a lot of time and money

I assume referencing the Tint is the airplane equivalent of missing the Herald?

If you’ve read what I said you would have noted that I’m referring to an ‘opinion’ concerning a ‘possible’ cause for the purposes of ‘the topic’.However if you think the thing sounded and acted ok going by the available evidence and if you think that what gets written here has any relevance whatsoever to what the CAA do.Then maybe you should take your own advice.

Oooooo, someone’s ratty. I’ve no opinion of what caused the crash, I’m not a top class aeronautical expert like you.

No because I was actually there and it was more a case of the piece of zb plane missing me.
Luke, please not the time or the place at the moment.

You don’t need to be an ‘aero expert’ to raise the question of a jet engine that doesn’t seem to be running right. While ironically in this case at least one media ‘expert’ doesn’t seem to have raised the same question.Having already seemed to be going for ‘misjudgement’ ( probably meaning pilot error ) instead.
Shame an interesting and thoughtful discussion has ended up being a willy waving contest.
The cheap jibes at each other by some, the snide remarks by some, the professing to be a font of knowledge on all subjects is nothing short of disgraceful.
Let me spell it out to you who appear to fail to see the main point of this post!
At least 11 dead never to see there families again there loss will touch and destroy many family lives for a long time.
Now act like men and respect their memory
RIP
This is not a thread of condolence,it is a discusion on the event…which you’ll have heard plenty more of if you have switched on a tv or opened a newspaper in the last 3 days.
I for one found some of the stuff regarding the actual aircraft rather interesting, especially the pilots account of the tintagel incident.
Further more,i will not be dictated to by a bunch of lorry drivers.
Commonrail. Head of nail firmly struck.

The OP obviously didn’t put any restrictions on replies by saying that only RIP related posts are acceptable.
As it stands the media already seem to be pushing the biased idea of possible ‘pilot error’.As opposed to the possible, predictable, results of allowing machinery to fly that was at best marginal and obsolete even within 10 years of its introduction let alone 50 + years later.
While having banned the flying of later and more superior designs on grounds of ‘safety’. Not to mention the questions of historic, but complex military equipment, that people rightly have an interest in seeing in action, being thrown out of the military maintenance and operation environment, into the obviously more resource compromised private environment.
On that note I could understand the idea of grounding aircraft like th Vampire and Hunter. While allowing aircraft like the Lightning to fly again on the condition that it is put back under military maintenance and operational control and only flown at operational military base open days.
On that note this is what a healthy well designed classic aircraft should sound and go like.

Haven’t you heard that the font of all was there as well but missed the boat 'cos he was lecturing at the local university and he had so much knowledge to impart he overstayed his welcome .
