How about this forget about the oil for one min. At the moment Scotland is near to producing 60% of its
Power with wind/sea turbines etc. Add all the tax from whisky etc that at the moment goes to London
Then we would be laughing all the way to the bank. Any money we make of the oil can then be kept in the biscuit tin for a rainy day. & before any smart arse says the monopoly bank it will be what other countries do I.e buy gold etc.
60% from salmonds windmills, are you sure about that?
If you had been a bit quicker you could have bought our gold but Gordon Brown already sold it
If anybody here really believes that Scotland, or anywhere else for that matter, can produce 60% of their electricity needs from wind or sea generators then they should vote for independence at once. After all they have already achieved independence from the sense they were born with.
So lets start something else that they will be able to agree wth at once.
That’s the basic problem the ‘No’ campaign have. The SNP are away with the fairies. There’s nothing concrete about their proposals but they still spout them as though the more they blether the more true it will become!
Energy consumption from renewables was certainly over 40% last year, I didnt think it was as high as 60% yet, though the new windfarm off Shetland will certainly take it to that. The problem is though, the government doesnt really make any money from it due to low tax on household energy and the fact that windfarms and such like are heavily subsidised anyway. We do however have the potential for more, hence the EU plans/proposals to link mainland Europe into our energy network.
So, we’ve got the oil and coal and now we’ve got the wind and sea
Yes and just look at what they have been through without outside support. Bankruptcies, property crash, huge cutbacks in social services and public employee wages!
We’ll ken when it has been judged a shattering success when Salmond is stood at the Border crossing at Gretna(facing South) in his under keks with the empty porridge bowl in his hands !! Bewick.

Thatcher and Tories have tried to kill Scottish jobs because they didn’t vote Tory . Steelwork, Ship -Building, manufacturing , mining were worthless to her as it wasn’t paper money to play with- she never respected the working man. But, as the German’s have proven , a strong economy still requires people to make things.
Let the Scots have independance and stop bullying them.
Nobody’s bullying the Scots for goodness sake, only asking for concrete reasons why Scotland would be better independent which, incidentally, it won’t!

Stronger together but divided we fall
Don’t think they were all fighting for that reason

Unfortunately the NO campaign has to be nghative - That’s what No means and it gives the Yes campaign a huge advantage.
This morning Osborne confirmed that if the vote is NO, Scotland will not be allowed to keep using the pound. The ramifications of this are huge. She will not be in the EU so will not be able to use the Euro.
All financial institutions will move south because that’s where they make their money. Scottish shipyards will all close. Unemployment will rocket and where is the money going to come from to pay the Benefits let alone the Scottish NHS?
