Safe loading of Steel Coils

When i used to load them in a tilt, i used to chock them all and spanset strap them. As long as the load is safe and secure always take your time and make it secure

This is what TATA / Corus want you to do in Europe, other steel manufacturers are available.

Note there is no ■■■■■■■ allowed, they decide what colour hard hat you wear, no bodging and follow the rules.

Most steel works have similar but differing rules.

Ferrymasters have their own agreed rules with TATA

Excellent stuff Malc!

Hello, after hearing so much abou this forum, i have finnaly decided to join.

I have been driing for a few years now, and on Monday i will be coming across my first load of Steel Coils from Cardiff.

To be fair these scare me a little bit, due to the in -experience i have with loading and securing them properly.

im just after some pro help as to how to trap these in, t will be a full load of 27ton, and each coil will be aprox 2.2ton.

Many Thanks

What means “You have been drinking for a few Years”?

Just don’t load them like he did. Sends a shiver down the spine.

Scary bit of film. :open_mouth:
