Any of you Rokold boys know Dave Moran, think he was on Rokold in mid 1990’s.

Or a Ferryline driver, Chris Goodwin, late 1980’s?

Cheers,

Mark.

Dave/Lord Lucan is working for H E Baldry in Lingfield, :

Hi again Ian top pic’s still mate. Yeah you’re right I was well hacked off with that break in, had my dads’ albums in there too, stuff from back in 60’s & 70’s all gone. The words to describe the low lifes that did it are best left unwritten.

I had the 113 streamline at Simon’s followed by couple of FH’s the 2nd one was the left ■■■■■■ which old John loved driving whilst I was at home. Simon didn’t have any 143s but when I got my left ■■■■■■ he bought a 144 460 which Johnny Shag from Hartington drove until he finished.

Been about 6 months since I last spoke to Simon but as far as I know all are well including old John who you may remember had a stroke & had to have a vein replaced in his neck, when I left Simon John was still driving daily in a 7:5 tonner for a local outfit, I presume he’s a man of leisure by now bless him, a real gent if ever there was!

Ian Gutteridge aka Hardhat is driving a powder tank for “Dinky” Lomas out of Buxton Quarries as was Shag last I heard. Steve Cash who had the other FH is on for Davies out of Mkt Drayton & Dennis who had the 380 FH is driving for Transalliance out of their Hilton depot.

So that’s about all in the McCann biography mate  , catch you again soon, Ps. Do you remember loading the Toy Story yoghurts out of Perafita near Porto? I sat there 2 days on one occasion & still only loaded 12 euro pallets back when it was done!

Ah! I remember Dave being in Uckfield, I take it he still is, I worked with him on Radcliffes, I’ve got a pic of him somewhere filling up in the shell at Nantua on my first run abroad to Italy. He nursed me to Milan then I was on my own. Good fella Dave. Last time I saw him he was on for Rokolds, getting the ferry from Dieppe. If you by any chance see him, say Mark sends his regards!

Cheers !

Yep, you just jogged my memory about Gentleman John. About time he put his feet up.

Perafita. Didn’t that have that nasty smell around there? . Same as you, sat there for a day once and put a handful of pallets on and topped up “on the way home” :unamused: @ Villaviciosa.

Hi nipper, no Chris had a scania 142, this would’ve been late 80s early 90s. He would’ve been early 20s. I can’t remember how long he worked for them. I know he did a fair bit of Austria/Germany. He left there for Trevor Starkes in Essex, drove a 141 for them! (And a few newer motors doing Greece etc.)
