Rokold

Hi everyone :astonished:

Great thread Nipper  Been wanting to get back on here for a “very long time” but you all know what it’s like
Anyway enough of that old rubbish. Here I am and here are some lovely old Rokold piccys

Im from Northampton and one day I noticed this “new” company doing fresh fruit and veg. What was the connection here then Nipper? I know it was something to do with Roklod 'cause thier own trucks were always in and out and the DAF 2800 pictured here is one of their’s resprayed. Any ideas…

A mate of mine Steve Chapman used to drive this one for a time

I used to see a few owner drivers pulling Rokold fridges. Any ideas who this was?

John Cooper from Bedford ran this 141 himself and then sold it to Rokold who painted it in their colours.

These next dozen photos are from Neil Jarrold. Hope you don’t mind me putting this lot on here Nipper

this my fave Rokold truck ever…

and a couple more subbies

And WHAT IS WRONG with photobucket?   I just spent an eternity resizing all the pics to “medium” only to find them all coming out at different sizes  AAARRRRRGGGGGHHHHHH

Hi Truckerash

Have no problem whatsoever with you posting pics on here mate, the more the merrier . Some crackers there goin back a few years. Know some of the trucks but not all. Robin had a couple of other companies, the one above VHB and JCS (the initials of his 3 sons) if you ever saw those around. Same colours as Rokold with different name. Not sure the reason’s behind them though. Just another string to the bow.
Dont know who the White Commander belonged to. Someone may post the answer though.
The 141 looked great in Rokold colours and was driven by Tim Clark. Les Tidy came from Coopers and drove the ARDO truck. Kevin Hannaford’s 112 in Dover in the old colours was a lovely truck. PHIL S on here will love the one of his old Waters truck  . The space cab was a lovely truck indeed :sunglasses:
That may be me in the Mercedes :frowning: .

Yes, photobucket has been pants of late

Thanks for adding the pics, mail coming your way Ash

Seen a couple of pics and a couple of mentions on here, I worked for em for 7yrs in 2 spells but first went as a passenger in the early '80’s. Shipped out Zeebrugge, tipped USAF camp in Germany, weekended at Carisio,

loaded peaches at Vignola I, Monday and made our way home

tipped London Wednesday night. Shipped back out to Belgium and loaded Thursday

and tipped Beejam, Milton Keynes Friday. Loved every minute of it  :sunglasses:

Didnt realise at the time I’d work for Robin a few years later :unamused: . Here’s a few of the trucks I drove/had :sunglasses:

First truck I drove there was Geoff’s “Hippo truck”

Left shortly after I got this truck new. Went walk about and came back 3 yrs later :unamused:
