Yes its 50, Nigel
m40 just because its a boring piece of tarmac
I like to see motorway slipways as long as the one at M1 J29a south bound its the perfect lenght.A flyover at M1 j24 to the A50 .Put the white lines back where they were at M1 j29 roundabout.

A66 Penrith > Workington dual carriageway the entire way, would seriously reduce the accidents! They ruined the most fun section…the west bound DC by bass lake! Had some fun through there in cars when I was younger, driving home from work and terrorising the tourists!
i can remember it when the twisty bit (westbound) was two way …now that was !!! fun on a motorbike
Kerbdog:
A685 improvement from m6 to a66, the weight restriction causes trucks to detour an extra 30 miles to j40. This will save a lot of trucks using the M62 if they are heading north east from north west Liverpool or radius area, having to go up to j40 to get to the a66 is silly. Funny how the environment doesn’t matter sometimes isn’t it
Out of boredom I decided to check this out on my new Philips Truck Navigator map book and low and behold, the page was missing. As were about 10 others. I was 3 days from missing out on the return window. Got a new fully paged one now free of charge.
Cheers

Raith interchange just blow it up and start again.
Couldn’t agree more. There was a broken down truck on it this evening and there was tailbacks for miles in every direction.
jessicas dad:
Build a tunnel from the M20 to the M1 no exits so any traffic from the south going north can by pass the M25 and dartford.
I would not want to get stuck in a jam in the middle you need oxygen masks.
The A27 from Lewes to Chichester, I reckon there are some sections of that that are well overdue for upgrading. Looks like they were going to bypass Arundel many years ago but gave up.
And a bridge from Dover to Calais!
motorway from Manchester air freight terminal, to Holmes chapel m6!

I’d like to see the VOSA checkpoints turned into rest areas and let the wheel tappers inspect the vehicles on the hard shoulder. That should speed the job up
A proper spaghetti junction at M1 J19 instead the undersized, stupid roundabout that causes miles lon queues both way; A14 and M6. Towcester bypass on A5. And put the foreigner truck onto trains in France and release them over the M25…

OTS:
A15 dualled form Lincoln to Scunthorpe. It`s on the plan that one
Long overdue
One for the Irish, extend motorway from Gretna to cairnryan!
it’s not hard, you know you want to!

Finish off the a1 motorway upgrade after leeming bar. The remaining short stint of dc is just dangerous now with the narrow laybys and entrances with the fact everyone iust carries on as if its motorway still. This is currently “on hold” … but if I remember correctly, it was announced in Dec 2012 that this had been allocated funds and was due to start in 2014
ALL tipper firms in N. Yorkshire are holding their breathThing is, as lovely as that upgrade would be once its finished, is it worth the 2 years of 50mph average speed check hell that would go with it. Must admit i am torn.
Surely it’s 50 now anyway?
Yes its 50 now for us, but its not relevant because traffic moves freely. Put in the average cameras and narrow lanes and all the cars have to do the same speed and the traffic bunches up and it becomes a misery to drive through.
We are only restricted 6 mph or less on the m62 through the roadworks and its dreadful to drive through because of the cars.
l like to improve the M 40 that’s got to be the most depressing motorway in the UK
got to be the A21 for me. dual carriageway to the m25 would be very nice.

Do you mean dualling from Tonbridge to Hastings? Or the bit inside the M25?
get rid of rumble strips on approach to roundabouts.not needed, completly over the top.
your suspension is already having to cope with braking forces…so why give it more work,by installing a series of patter inducing mini-speed bumps.
good signage, and a good braking surface(shell grip) is far better
I would rather see driver improvements but that is as unlikely as road improvements.
I’d like to see a new road built from Carlisle to Dover, It will have a tunnel under Birmingham and London, There will be either a bridge or tunnel to Calais.
Its sole use will be for freight, There will be decent state run rest areas and fuel bunkering facilities, No private firms will be allowed to even think about setting up shop anywhere near it.
It will cost £25 per day to use it and a further £25 to cross to France. For this you will get free secure parking and subsised meals.
