I’d like to see a new road built from Carlisle to Dover, It will have a tunnel under Birmingham and London, There will be either a bridge or tunnel to Calais.
Its sole use will be for freight, There will be decent state run rest areas and fuel bunkering facilities, No private firms will be allowed to even think about setting up shop anywhere near it.
It will cost £25 per day to use it and a further £25 to cross to France. For this you will get free secure parking and subsised meals.

The two big ones for me is
A9 must be the most dangerous road in the UK
And the A77 dualed from Ayr -Stranraer etc
far to busy for single track.
A9 must be the most dangerous road in the UK
I know its been said many times before but comments like this one really cheese me off.How the hell can a road be dangerous?
I drive up and down the A9 regularly sometime in a truck and sometimes in a car and all I see is idiotic drivers in cars and trucks.
That is why there are so many bad accidents on that road. Some drivers are just accidents waiting to happen.
Its pathetic.
Half the problem at the A1 A46 A17 junction is the greenery on the roundabout .You cannot see traffic coming from your right as it is hidden and the speed of cars means you often make a move to go at the same time as another car appears . It is worst trying to join the 17 from the A1 southbound
