Within reason, what would you like to see improved that would help certain roads.
I’ll start with these off the top of my head :
A50 to M1 Southbound, a flyover to avoid the 2 roundabouts near the Hilton Hotel.
A685 improvement from m6 to a66, the weight restriction causes trucks to detour an extra 30 miles to j40. This will save a lot of trucks using the M62 if they are heading north east from north west Liverpool or radius area, having to go up to j40 to get to the a66 is silly. Funny how the environment doesn’t matter sometimes isn’t it
I’d like to see the VOSA checkpoints turned into rest areas and let the wheel tappers inspect the vehicles on the hard shoulder. That should speed the job up
Finish off the a1 motorway upgrade after leeming bar. The remaining short stint of dc is just dangerous now with the narrow laybys and entrances with the fact everyone iust carries on as if its motorway still.

Flyover from M1 sth at J21 to M69 for cars so only a single lane needed - a bigger one to take all would be nicer but a lot more cost

They need to do this to stay in work how many jobs do you know of that involve 3 workers standing round a hole looking into it whilst leaning on shovels■■? Think of the children if their mothers / fathers actually worked for a living they would be too tired to do anyhting with them on days off!!!
Bypass the whole of the Tyne & Wear section of the A1, its bloody gridlock every morning and afternoon rush hour or at least close some of the junctions. There must be at least a dozen junctions on this short stretch from Washington Services though to Gosforth.

This is currently “on hold” … but if I remember correctly, it was announced in Dec 2012 that this had been allocated funds and was due to start in 2014

I would like to see the person responsible for setting the variable speed limits on sections of (badly) managed motorways shot in the back of the head. Anybody who has been on the M1 between J6a and J10 late at night/early in the morning recently should understand why.

Agree totally plus make the laybys deeper protected by a kerb and make the slip roads longer.
Dual A9 up to inverness average of 200 accidents per year, an accident every other day with an average of 15 deaths per year!
Ban right turns on the shawhead flyover let them drive a half mile down the road and u turn on the roundabout in bellshill, this would instantly cure this hellhole of a junction.
Stick in a few more passing lanes on the A69 there is currently only 2 southbound and 3 northbound. When they built that haydon bridge bypass they should have put in a passing lane, there is more than enough space, dolly bastarts. Doesn’t matter how many times you pull over the queue behind you is far as the eye can see!
Raith interchange just blow it up and start again.
