I take it you’ve worked through agencies in other fields? HGV agencies don’t work like they do. You don’t apply for a job through an agency, the agency send you on a temporary assignment on a daily or weekly basis. They choose who on their books to send when a client phones saying they want a driver for a day or a week or whatever, you’re not interviewed for every job they send you to.

usually sent to depot for (a time to be arranged) arrive and handed keys take the load to (somewhere)

also just mind I recently found out a guy at our work never took his holiday pay from the agency, I knew it in advance and got my 1021 from them dont let them rip you of like muggins at my work

Agency i worked for kept stalling on my owed holiday pay, then went bust, however the Official Receiver whom i contacted was a sound bloke and got me the owed pay back :sunglasses:

Are you going to rinse me for hours like an old dishcloth? Are you going to pay me if your customer doesn’t pay you? How much chip fat is in your hair? Why do you like pointy shoes so much? Do you ■■■■■■■■■■ over the thought of an Audi A4?

Just a small sample of course…

I forgot the EB handbook
Can I just drop that here and get paid
I dont want to do it
I would rather golf than do this

Are you going to tell me lots of fibs? If they say no that’s the first one!

I got my current job after working there a while via an agency. It is easier to be offered a job - if you’re already there after all. :bulb:

It’s the agency assignments that one gets offered around the school holiday times - that don’t materialize into full time work.

Christmas is the worst. If you’re not working there flat out by Halloween - then you’ll likely be offered flat out work up until new year’s day - and then nothing.
Beware the dearth of work at agencies in the first six weeks of the new year.

And the rest! How about quiet until May or June?
