Radio 2

haribo4000:
I have radio 2 on from midnight till 4 am. Listen to Janice long, then the dark lord till 4. Then it’s turn over to radio 1 for dev.

Radio 1 before 4am is awesome, nihal’s set on wednesdays between 2 and 4 is simply epic, if you like that kind of music of course. Dev’s show is pretty good apart from most of the music.

dancompression:
Having Moira Stewart included is great.

I couldn’t disagree more !!!
She stumbles over her words on EVERY single news report…and the way she tries to come across as young and trendy with her ‘yoof speak’ makes me cringe

R2 lost me when they got rid o Radcliffe and Maconie, easily the funniest most intelligent show on the radio-end of,R2 is now a dumping ground for c-listers with cast iron contracts who cant be got rid of,R4 til 9am then R5 for the rest of the day for me

I LIKE TONY BLACKBURN PART TIMER ON RADIO 2 I KNOW BUT WHEN HE DOES 70s N 80s BRILL 5 *****

Chris Evans first, although I wish he would shut up about how much money he has and how many bloody Ferrari 's he’s got!!!
Listen to ken till just after the quiz then it’s straight over to Radio 4 for the rest of the day…
I just can’t stand Liza ( my dads Jimmy Tarbuck) Tarbuck and as for Chris ( I love my own voice) Tarrant he is utter ■■■■■■ Steve wright is boring same old crap everyday…
Simon Mayo is very good I do switch back from 4 when he’s on… I like the food bit he has on, I like to try out the recipe…
But I do think R2 needs a massive shake up, I thought Jonnie Walker left because he had cancer■■?
Aled Jones is quite good… The dark Lord is good just because he used to live on a Canal boat… Lol

How I miss Radio Caroline (south) Radio London, Radio North Sea International.
Even Laser 558 in the eighties was a blast

Radio two has lost the plot big time and only a complete shake up might save it. I tuned into Arrow Rock Radio for ages on the medium wave, broadcast from a portakabin in a soggy potato field in Holland, terrific music for my taste, but then they lost their licence to broadcast and went on to t’internet

So now its Radio Four and the Archers where I can fantasise about Alice Aldridge and how filthy she sounds

Laser 558 wow a blast from the past!!

Does anybody know where ‘Ceaser the Geezer’ is these days … Or does anybody even remember him■■?

A good page to read up on laser 558…

My truck would be on its roof somwhere off the M40 if I had to listen to Radio 2 so boring, I also hate most breafast chat shows as they waffle worse than school kids on top of a bus. Im just music, music, music me, mostly listen to CDs, I keep sweet talking the bosses into fitting DAB radios to the trucks

Radio Two could do much worse than snapping up @prodnose

Danny Baker was told his BBC London programme contract would not be renewed, so he told them to stuff it today, live on air

I think you are all forgetting the highlight of R2… The organist entertains

Jeremy Vine always seems to have his mind made up about the rights and wrongs of a debate even before it has started, Wrighty is just not fresh anymore, Chris Evans is just way too loud and lively for a breakfast show, I’m more Radio Scotland nowadays, decent mix of chat and music, only problem is reception in Scotland can be a bit patchy unless you want Classic FM, that seems to work everywhere for some reason but nit my thing at all.

Can’t really see mark Radcliffe leaving six music to go back to radio two.
Just tried to listen some of dev. My God how annoying. Thank God I managed to get radio 4. Usually listen to six music apart from when I have no reception. Although I don’t mind Alex Lester, Simon mayo and Jeremy vine.

6 music is the new Radio 2, apart from Ken Bruce, I’ve gone over the 6 music ,dont miss the traffic after a while.

Chris Moyles has been offered a slot for next year

That’s unfortunate.

According to government data for 2011/2012 under the Mental Capacity Act 2005 Deprivation of Liberty 11,393 applications were received.

Of these only 6343 were granted and the patient kept in a secure unit.

This means the remaining 5050 are able to get to a mobile phones.

If we assume Steve Wright broadcasts 200 days a year with 50 “Great show Steve” text message a day then he is getting around 10,000 of these messages.

Therefore on average these people are only ill enough to send 2 messages a year. It does also show that Jeremy Vine has 5050 people to call on to comment on his show as well.

Bring back Terry Wogan.

Ken Bruce brilliant esp his chat with Lyn Bowles.maybe she should be given a chance.

Alex Lester is good.

just to go off to another station Radio 5 GET RID OF THAT PRAT NICKY CAMPBELL.

Seems most agree.

Dark Lord is good - although I don’t hear him anymore due to new shift.
Fatty Felts gets on my ■■■■, I think she gets it right when she says “lovely listener” ie 1!
I really like Chris Evans, a self made man and a real natural entertainer and he really enjoys what he does, which I think comes across.
Ken Bruce is just excellent, like his show and get annoyed if I miss Pop Master.
I like the Jeremy Vine show, and even when fatty feltz stands in, but it does have some DULL topics.

Now, that ‘up my own harris’ Steve Wright. My god, I hate that guy, everything he does just bugs the crap out of me. Sings over the end of 50% of songs and then says “I love that song”. Comments badly on songs and then says “I love that song” :unamused: :imp: .
Is it just me, or do him and the sports guy sound like they really hate each other?

Simon Mayo is a good presenter in my opinion, but he has a good team too.
I like 2 of the 5 7pm shows, and I like Jo Whiley, then I’m off home :grimacing:

Not a bad thumbs up from a 35 year old, most shows get the thumbs up, which is pretty good for any radio station.

I do get sick of hearing the same songs over and over though.

If that’s true, then i’m afraid 88 to 91 FM is being deleted from my pre-sets on the radio. I can’t stand that vacuous lump of whale blubber and would be the one and only reason not to listen to radio 2 ever again.

Once Alex Lester has clocked off i tune into whichever of the local commercial stations i can find and swap stations around the banal adverts…please don’t tell me anyone in this country ever buys anything advertised so badly…NURSE!

The only time R2 goes on after Alex is if Richard Madely is standing in for the boring ginger winger.

The one i really miss from years ago is dear old Ray Moore, early morning handovers to Terry Wogan were hilarious, Terry was late one day and Ray teased him for ages…comments on his show like ‘take your time Terry no rush i’m here’'.

Could that Feltz thing drop more names, not sure as we’ve done the whole look at me i’m a celebrity thing to death yet…did you know she was in a boat within sight of the queen’s boat during the jubilee river cruise, well i never…yawn.
