Does anyone else think radio 2 has gone a bit crap over the last few months?
IMHO theirs too much focus on “celebrity” what I mean is, if a presenter is off they are often replaced by non radio people.
Rite now ken Bruce is off and standing in for him is that claudia wincleman, nice on tv but crap on the radio. Getting a bit bored of it now!
richard allison replaced steve wright yesterday,wish they’d give wrighty the middle of the night slot and kept allison for the afternoons.
i think chris evans is very over rated, and over paid. his choice in music is worse than my nans, and she’s dead.
i’d like an addition to the traffic report. a Vosa report.
they could utilise the traffic cameras as well as CB and phone in updates.

Chris Evans grates on me nowadays, defiantly no Terry Wogan thats for sure and don’t get me started on Vanessa Feltz or Jeremy Vine … Alex Lester and Richard Allinson should have better slots , and bring back Stuart Maconie and Mark Radcliffe… and another thing!!! 
I cannot abide Vanessa feltz or that stupid bint that stands in for her ! ( forgotten her name ). And yeh Steve wright has become completely boring.
It’s become pretty much a dumping ground for out of work T.V. people who are probably stuck on some BBC contract.
As mentioned some like Al Murray are great live or on T.V. but it dosen’t carry across on radio.
Some like Feltz are just down right rubbish.
I always find the person that covers for Steve Wright better than he is.
I still listen to it most of the time but I agree with many of the negative comments above.
Vanessa Feltz is terrible on the early morning slot, but having said that I think she does a decent job of sitting on for Jeremy Whine when he’s off.
Chris Evans is OK but not a patch on Wogan, and I don’t like the fact that he has nicked an extra hour at the start of the show which pushes Alex Lester back meaning I rarely get to hear him now.
I like Ken Bruce, his show is probably the best on there during the day IMO.
Jeremy Vine is sometimes pretty good, other times he annoys me and most (if not all) of the punters who phone up are utter eejits.
Steve Wright should be retired and replaced by someone better, for example Richard Allinson as others have suggested.
Simon Mayo does a pretty good job, easily as good as Chris Evans who he replaced.
The hour between 7 and 8pm is generally not my cup of tea.
… and finally Jo Whiley I think does a pretty good job of her show too, although now I’m not doing many nights out I rarely get to hear it.
As for the occasional presenters, they are often better than those they replace. Zoe Ball does a pretty good job of it and after always sounding a bit nervy at the start Liza Tarbuck doesn’t do a bad job these days. Richard Allinson is brilliant and why he doesn’t have a proper show of his own is beyond me. Ryan Tubredy (sp?) who has filled in for Chris Evans a couple of times recently is also pretty good and I am also quite surprised that Richard Madely is good. The only stand-in I can think of that I don’t like is Chris Tarrant who I find very annoying.

Even me, a radio stalwart is tiring of Radio 2, although I disagree with a lot of the comments about Chris Evans. I still rate him, as well as Maconie and Radcliffe.
But tiring I am, and often in the car I will turn it off, or find some local radio.
Many of the old DJ types are past it and the new ones cannot cut the mustard, it is either childish screams or so far up their own arse that they stare in the mirror all day telling us how lovely they are.
Any openings for me on Grumpy Old Men yet? 
I find Chris Evans OK.Its a pity hat Johnny Walker is only on a Sunday now,he plays my type of music.
Don’t mind Richard Madeley as a stand in.Chris Tarrant no way. I still like Brrian Mathew on sounds of the 60’s on Saturday from 8am=10am, 83 years old and still doing a good job.

I think wrighty needs retiring, and whine needs shooting. Chris evens is ok, as is ken Bruce. We need Richard Allison on full time, Zoe ball on more but Lisa tar buck is too fond of her own voice.
I tend to listen to the comedy programmes on radio 4 Extra now, and radio 6 is good for a change.
Alex Lester is the best , Feltz is hard work to listen to and I normally have the volume down so I can only hear the music. Chris Evans I like have met him and read his autobiography’s and he’s a good egg. Ken Bruce a bit boring at times, Vine can be quite interesting at times and Steve Wright a bit old hat now as he’s had that slot for over 30 odd years now. And lastly Mayo is pretty good.
Richard Allinson is a good stand in as is Zoe Ball, I’m not keen on Aled Jones.
The problem with Radio 2 is that they are trying to cover too broad an age range. Many listeners have left Radio 1 as it is now blatantly targetting the teens whereas before they would cater for probably up to mid 30’s. Radio 2 is now trying to cater for the 20’s right up to the pensioners and failing miserably.
Best thing I ever did was get a pure highway for DAB in the truck. I now listen to Christian O’Connell on Absolute radio for breakfast show. Absolute radio also has a different station for each decade from 60’s up to 00’s.
Another option is to download podcasts to listen to. The downside of these are they don’t have music, just the chatter.
I agree Alex lester should get his old hours back, Jeremy vine gets on me … And should go, as should Steve wright who still thinks its the eighties.
As for Chris Evans he’s far to intense for that time of the morning, I just don’t listen any more.

Alex Lester should start at 02.00 run till 06.30 & just miss out Feltz simple dont mind Evans too much can cope then Ken Bruce he plays a lot of different stuff

Write never liked even when he was on R1
Mayo is ok decent replacement for Walker / Evans
Allinson does have his own show early on a sat /sun mor as well as standing in for some people ( he did stand in for Evans 1 week but has never done it again why he was better & got more listeners )
Dont mind Zoe Ball when she stands in for Bruce
The 19.00-20.00 listen to some as they play a lot of different stuff but more specialised
Like Brian Matthews on a sat mor but dont like Aneka Rice
Rayan Tubredy is ok like him when he sat in for Graham Norton Who I cant stand
Listen to Johnny Walker on a sun afternoon but tend to tun off when Paul O’Grady comes on
Radio 2 has lost the plot.
Its like amateur hour with the so called stand in DJ’s its a though they drag anyone in to a do programme nowadays.
As for the night time its about time Janice Long ‘in the tooth’ was put out to grass she has got to be the most patronising person on the radio.
Alex Lester should be given his early morning slot back also glad to hear Mark Radcliffe is coming back as for Johnnie Walker he should be given a regular daily slot.
I like Ryan Tubridy… They should try and pry him out of the hands of RTE full time. Would be decent in Steve Wright’s slot.
