Prisoner in France

I have just been given the news that STUART GUY one of our driver friends has been given a date for his parole hearing. This is for early January, however there is the question of a customs fine outstanding, this is well over £4.000 and basically this needs paying before the french court will set his parole case in motion. Anyone any ideas how his partner can raise this money. Can the BLUE RIBBON APPEAL help his partner so she and the babies ( twins of 4yr old ) can have him home where he belongs.

Hi Danneke,

Only the organisers of the Blue Ribbon Appeal would be able to answer that question for you.

cheers
STEVE.

BLUE RIBBON CAMPAIGN

The BLUE RIBBON CAMPAIGN (not the BLUE RIBBON APPEAL) was set up at Peterborough Truck Show 2003 by suppoters of the Free John Vasey Campaign to highlight the plight of ALL British drivers imprisoned abroad, there are over 200 in France alone.

The Blue Ribbon symbol was taken from the blue ribbons John’s supporters were selling for £1.00 donation to John’s Fighting Fund at that time, the colour blue being taken from the livery of J D Vasey Transport. As far as we are understand others have also sold ribbons for their own fighting funds and we see nothing wrong with this as long as it is for a driver held in a foriegn prison, all donations are welcome to any Fighting Fund.

The Blue Ribbon Campaign has the support of, Trucknet, Fair Trials Abroad, Truck and Driver, Truckstop News, Professional Drivers Association, R. H. A. and many other organisations and individuals

The Blue Ribbon Campaign has no funds of it’s own therefore unfortunately is unable to make any donations.
