Ee by gum as they say in Essex, them u-tubes bring back some memories and as for that poor sod with a brokken trailer - well it happens in Africa as well…
Hmm,United Transport.Ancliffe,Bulwark,Stamp,Hogg and others.Not one of theirs,unless they did a Malawi trunk?
…and as for this thread containing nuts, you are dead right
No Chris,it was Smith of Maddiston that did the Malawi trunk…and back again…best time was in a 240 Gardnered Big J!!!

Hi David.Maybe the 240 Guy expired whilst on safari and is still out there waiting to be photographed. Can’t wait to see the photo off Renegade Dave, what will we talk about then?
I reckon Smiths could have done a Malawi trunk easy, they would have got two days to do it.
“The only wagon that could pass a Smiths was another one” - or summat like that.

The driver was told to use a Jumbo trailer but they were all on Trunk and if they were serious about getting that load of cement from Malawi to Scotland then they should of used The Old Red and Rust

On a positive note if that S.O.M. (Smiths Of Malawi) driver gets a cable drum as a backload he won’t need to bother about getting any chocks
.
![]()
Smith of Malawi,I like that Steve. He could get two drums on flat ways and run the trailer on landing leg wheels…just a thought.

This new M6, it bypassed Preston and eventually Shap, there was a cafe there. Was it the Jungle?
I remember when they planted it ![]()
No,the Jungle was between Khartoum and Johannesburg.
I’ve heard of Shap but not that M6,does it go to Wales? Shap was a dog that Elvis sang about - Old Shap.Preston is near Hull isn’t it,there’s a big haulier near there called Potto. ![]()
