Looks to me that Rayner was careless in not seeking expert legal advice regarding her rather complex financial situation.We should expect better of a Minister, so it is right that she resigned when the Standards Advisor criticised her, and right that her resignation was accepted.
I doubt we have seen the last of her in the Labour Party. I would expect her to continue as a Labour MP, and to stand again in the same contituency. I doubt she will chicken out just shout from the sidelines.
Don’t be giving her any credit for it though, being caught with her knickers down compromised her position, to the point she could not continue her job with any credibility.
She got caught and sussed, if she had not been she would have carried on if she had any sense.

I think you are right there. More or less the last sentence in the article asks the question : ‘If Rayner and all her ministerial experts and advisors couldn’t interpret trust legislation what hope is there for the rest of us in so doing?”
