Political discussions...

We have the ballot box and public media. Little else.

If more people spoke forcefully about education, then it would move up the ladder on party manifestoes.
MPs are far from perfect, but many of them IMHO do try to carry out their promises, they do attempt to do what is good for the country, rather than just for themselves. And I reckon that is true (more or less) in all parties.

I can see no short cuts.
If anyone promises an easy fix I am 99.99% sure, they are either liars or fools.
Or liars and fools!

um wants reeves and starmers plan to tax private school fees supposed to provide all this money and save the state schools/

How has that worked so far in history?
Whatever party that gets in after they have promised the earth still display the same crap, or a version of their own brand of crap.

Like more oeople speaking forcibly about illegal immigration for instance?..howmuch more forcibly does it require?
You won’t agree but the vast majority of people in this country are sick of it with all the sh that accompanies it and it’s effects.
I aint getting into a Party points scoring match with you, but the lates version was going to stop it by smashing the gangs…but in reality.zilch…
So what difference is it or willit be with education in schools.

Thing is mate I aint saying that Ican see a solution either…

What else is there?
We do not get all the ambitions of every promise instantly.
Of course not, as you say “this is the real world”.

But we do get to talk about, and vote on, which direction a new government should move.

wihout getting off track as you say
The current gov is probably doing more about migration than they would have done of it wasn’t in the media all the time. For some (probably you) it isn’t enough etc but I do think they are doing more than they would otherwise have done. They are certainly not ignoring it.

If education were on the “front pages” as much as migration, then more would be done about it.

so its nothing to do with their election promises its only because of gbn news etc

it was remember all the headlines about vat on private school fees and how everyone said it was stupid.

remember the other week when they said oh we have managed to get x number of new teachers well they did bugger all it takes 4 years to become a teacher. remember when they said we have got x number of teaching assistants??? no you have x number of people that have done a 2 week swap course. do you really want someone that has done a 2 week course helping teach your child. not been tested on maths or english skills let alone any other subject

Yep that’s about right.

Woahhh there …We were doing fine unti then.
I won’t ask you to back it up, let’s save 3 pages of to and fro arguing, as it will achieve nothing.

What about crime law and order and policing of such?
That is front page news regular, but nothing changes, on the contrary unless you believe the loaded and purposely biased stats of such.

No answer to my ''Flippancy and Sarcasm v Being entirely serious query I notice …(or the olive branch or continued feud options as I would call it.)

Where was that? But at the moment, neither of us is being too rude, so…
