Most of this thread has been using indistinct and inaccurate terminology, (and that is deliberate on the part of some) but seems to be about small boats and asylum seekers.
Some may not have a good command of the English Language and fail to express their points adequately, so are consequently misconstrued and misunderstood.
So basically that is just an assumption and conclusion on your part is it not ?.. rather than a qualified analysis.

Refugees
The camps in Calais are those trying to come to the UK. They have not applied for asylum in France. Those tents are not French supplied asylum accommodation. They are not receiving asylum grants etc. They are getting food etc from charities etc. They are extra numbers to those who applied for asylum in France.
France and Germany, again I will say it (links earlier) offers much the same to asylum seekers as the UK does. Much the same basic accommodation and food. More than tents but less than 4* luxury.
Of course I defend asylum seekers.
I condemn illegal migrants and think they should be deported.
It exactly people deliberately lumping migrants, asylum seekers, refugees, irregular migrants, illegal migrants, economic migrants, all in the same basket that leads to silly arguments.
Bad terminology is often a result of sloppy thinking. Just you might get upset when a journo talks about vans or juggernauts when they mean a lorry, you are one of those guilty of using the wrong terms for effect and spin on this topic.

Why do you refuse to accept that the vast majority of these young men are NOT refugees.
Why are the majority of them just that…young men,.and more worrying of military fighting age, from a lot of hostile to the West places.
Where are their wives and families not ‘‘fleeing’’ with them?..or are they just left to their own fate…or more likely NOT fleeing wars and pesecution at all.
Why as mentioned are they intent on coming here at great cost to life if they could just stay in France for what you laughingly tell us is the same facilities and benefits or similar to here
