I wouldnt worry he still hasnt grasped the difference between migration and immigration despite being told many times

Means nothing in relevance to my post. AKA, in the absence of any substance matter just revert to diversion tactics.

what on earth has the asylum situation got to do with being in or out of the EU? nothing!
this is how EU countries house refugees > refugee camp in greece at DuckDuckGo
putting them up in hotels is our choice and if you ever thought leaving the EU would affect that then you were lied to

Brexit promised a few things -

we could become global Britain by leaving the customs union and sign trade deals around the world, we did sign a deal with Australia and NZ etc. and are currently talking directly with USA

we ended free movement and changed to a points based immigration policy

we stopped sending 350 million per week to the EU budget

we don’t have any MEPs and we left every EU institution like the Erasmus student thing, the Horizon science cooperation, the European medicines agency, everything. even the Dublin agreement which used to let us send failed asylum seekers back

we left the single market and are not under the ECJ.

we even have blue passports to prove it and they don’t say European Union on them any more

How is that not a real Brexit? what more were you expecting? its all been delivered as promised and even you say its a failure

BRINO would be Switzerland or Norway. free movement, single market, customs union etc

you can’t go back to the life from 1972 because the Europe of 1972 doesn’t exist any more. back then there were 12 Western European independent countries. nowadays there’s a single trading bloc of 400 million people covering west, central and Eastern Europe

Border Force need a name change to free ferry service or water taxi.
It’s illegal to facilitate in illegal migration yet they bring in 100’s per day, the RNLI are just as bad.

Drivers get a £10,000 fine for each clandestine located on their vehicle and the owner operator is fined £10,000.

The fine is a possible penalty, not an obligatory one.
I know of cases when clandestines have been found and no further action taken after an investigation.
If a trailer is broken into and because of poor security and slack checks then a fine will most probably be made.
If it is a first offence and there is a new way in found then the fine is less likely. As time has gone on the ways they stowaway are being more known and so can be guarded against. That is indeed why they are using small boats now. There is now stronger truck security and checking, and the fines have probably concentrated the minds of the slacker drivers and companies, so in that sense they have worked.
Anyone with an illegal in the back now is either the victim of a very new and clever way of entering the vehicle, or has been lax somewhere.

Well since you used the word in one post, and then emphasised it in the following post, I think it is very relevant to understand the word.

Unless you are telling us that you use irrelevant words?

Which actually would be quite poetic use of language to describe imaginary Brexit Benefits. :grinning:

They weren’t. And that was predictable.
Why would anyone give the UK, a smaller economy, a better deal than the EU, a larger economy?
Aus, NZ, Japan didn’t. Why would they? The US hasn’t. Why would it?
Some of the idea seemed to be that the Brexiteers thought we could be “the exception” that we deserved “special treatment” etc.
The same as you suggesting that we could have avoided the extra EU paperwork and bureaucracy. How? Why?
We are not some exceptional case. We are not magically entitled to special treatment and should be exempted from the normal rules aof international trade.

The idea we could escape the normal world and be an exception is imaginary, unreal, and all based on the hypothetical belief we are special.

The “opportunity to do better” was like an opportunity to win the lottery.
It is not something we do alone. Not something under our own control.
Negotiations, take two. we do dictate the terms of agreements. We do not tell our trade partners how lucky they are to do business with us. The assumption, the dream, that any new deals must be better is both foolish and extremely conceited.

The preferred choice now is via a dinghy due to the fully scrutinised checks in the French ports for the authorities to use heart beat monitors with a metal probe inserted in to the side of the trailer to save opening the seal on the trailer or climbing all over the load.

CO2 monitors are utilised to check for breathing.

And dogs as well, as the people in the camps cook! food with a fire or to keep warm, the dogs instantly know it’s them hiding in the trailer.

Years ago they only did random checks, that’s all changed to every vehicle to be checked.

The criminal gangs were cutting the TIR cord to allow clandestine in the load then to reseal it with Superglue, the driver may be unaware of any uninvited passengers.

If they cut the roof, not many carry a ladder to check that.

Most drivers won’t park anywhere near the ports overnight, and run in on a straight 4.5 hour drive without stopping.

The penalty is reduced if the driver carried out reasonable checks and completed the official form in a check list of where he or she stopped on route, with the times and locations, was the lorry checked after a comfort, loo or coffee break, did you observe it at all times if parked near a restaurant having a meal and so on.

There’s a penalty of £6000 for an insecure vehicle, regardless if they find clandestine or not.

In the MSM an owner driver was issued a penalty even though an officer filmed the evidence that there was nobody onboard and the driver checking the vehicle, the officer in charge then finished his shift for the next shift rotation staff to not have the film footage that the driver was in the clear so they issued him with the penalty of which he appealed against.

So…there was evidence he did the job correctly? And the fine was overturned?

I will try and dig the article up, it was a two staged control, then he moved up to the second one, the first control had the evidence but not the second.

I will.stop you right there..(the rest as far as I am concerned is just word soup,…all it achieves is Franglais continuing to cream his pants bleating and discussing it all.

There is nothing wrong with an asylum ‘‘system’’ the Ukraine situation has proven that.
But you use the word '‘situation’ and it IS a ‘‘situation’’ there lies the problem.
The present asylum ‘‘situation’’ is a gross and direct ABUSE of the asylum ‘system’ down to a combination of a vast iincentive to come here rather than stay in a tent in France,.and it being policed and implemented by socialists and those who happened to be '‘remainers’…that sums up the ‘‘situation’’.

The Brexit vote was a lot about having control of and policing our borders…which you conveniently left out of the ‘word soup’.
An ideal control of the borders woukd be something like Trump is doing in the US which have the p4nty wetters grasping for their nappies…including a few on hete in fact.:joy:

The whole ‘‘situation’’ is absolutely crystal clear as to what is going on in reality as opposed to the official version of events… unless of course you are some kind of naive and deluded fool of a certain political leaning as the likes of Franglais.

(Speaking of …How and why tf are we just indulging him by discussing Brexit again? )
The present political situation in Britain is a joke, a joke set out in only 6 months and a much worse joke than that of the Tories which in comparison took a whole 14 years ffs ,with this complete out of touch idiot we now have in charge.

If we ÀRE going to touch on Brexit at all we should be discussing why a prominent ‘and very vocal ‘remainer’’ is trying to get us back in through the back door.
Maybe he actually believes all the lefty hype and bull sh that those who voted Brexit no longer want it.:joy:

If you have a company seal for a high value load there are problems, but in my own experience it was better to break the seal after an overnight stop and to inspect the inside of the trailer.

Does Calais not have overhead mirrors? If not I am very surprised.

The driver said that after his suspicions were aroused he then looked at the roof?
And what of the sound and CO2 checks that are commonplace?

I still do not see the exact timeline of what happened. I don’t understand exactly what happened, the details are important.

Since it was months ago, what was the outcome of the appeal?

Exactly. Most remoaners fail to see that and use it as an example of how brexit has failed. They fail to see it is their own attitude and pouting that has led to the situation we are in

And that is what started him off. We were disgussing how starmer is undoing the benefits of brexit in a way that we cant undo to get his stop the boats on day one plan through 9 months later

Plan?..
What plan ?
Like I said stopping these pi55takers or sending them back goes totally against his ‘political dna’.
He really can NOT see a problem in his own warped socialist brain, with catering for these ‘‘poor doctors and scientists fleeing persecution from their war torn country’’ …all of which is complete horse sh to anybody with a brain and open eyes.

So to pacify the rest of us, all he does is spout b/s and soundbites like ‘Stop the boats’ and ‘Smash the gangs’ and basically do the far end of f.all in essence.

The boats could be stopped in 5 mins, we are an island with an almost second to none Royal Navy…
No doubt some organisation akin to the ECHR will be preventing that.
